     Raymond married Mary Jane Lewis on January 23, 1938 in Flint, Genesee County, Michigan.1 Raymond died on May 5, 2001 in Tuscola County, Michigan, at age 88.1,3 He was buried in Mona View Cemetery, Muskegon Heights, Muskegon County, Michigan.4 His obituary read as follows:

      SLADE, Raymond L. - Of Caro, formerly of the Flint area. Passed away Saturday evening, May 5, 2001 at the Van Winkle Residential Facility in Caro, following a lingering illness. Age 88 years. He was born July 9, 1912 in Wallowa, OR, the son of the late William A. and Minna (Kuehl) Slade, coming to Michigan with his parents as a young boy. He lived most of his adult life in Genesee County, coming to Caro about four years ago. He was employed at the Chevrolet Assembly Plant in Flint for more than 30 years, retiring in 1972. He married Mary Jane Lewis on January 23, 1938 in Flint. Surviving, besides his wife, are three sons, four daughters and their spouses, Charles and Charlene Slade living in Florida, William and Connie Slade of Manistee, Kathryn Atwell of Caro, Richard and Mary Slade of Otisville, Ramona Czykyski, Carole and Derek Frakes and Mary Ann Cullen, all of Caro; twenty seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Cecelia Shine and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2001 at the Ransford Funeral Home in Caro. Raymond's grandson, Rev. Eric Slade of the East Side Church of the Nazarene in Flint will officiate. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2001 in the Mona View Cemetery in Muskegon Heights. Friends may call at the Ransford Funeral Home on Monday from 4-9 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Family Discretionary Fund.      Charles married Charlene Frees.1 He was living in Florida when his mother died in 2001.2 Charles died on September 29, 2017 in Port Charlotte, Florida, at age 78.1 He On Friday, September 29th, 2017 our family experienced the unexpected loss of Charles David Slade. He left behind his wife, Charlene Slade of 45 years, as well as 5 children, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

     Richard married Mary Lee Neumeyer on September 10, 1965 in Germany.1 Wife Mary Lee.2,3 Richard died on November 9, 2017 at age 74.1 He was buried in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, Oakland County, Michigan.1 His obituary read as follows:

      SLADE, RICHARD LARK Of Otisville, age 74, died Thursday, November 9, 2017 at his residence. Funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Eric D. Slade and Pastor Suzette M. Slade co-officiating. Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions to the Wounded Warriors Project. Visitation 4-8 p.m. Monday and 11 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the service at the funeral home. Richard was born in Flint, Michigan on January 16, 1943, the son of the late Raymond and Mary (Lewis) Slade. On September 10, 1965 he married Mary Lee Neumeyer in Germany. He served his country in the U.S. Army's First Air Calvary during the Vietnam War and was also in the Presidential Guard for President Kennedy. He enjoyed fishing and traveling to Florida in the winter. He was active in local gas and oil exploration as an owner and investor. Richard retired from GM in 2003. Surviving are wife, Mary; sons, Eric D. and wife Suzette Slade, Mark D. Slade and Matthew L. Slade; grandchildren, Kasey (Tim) Pruett, Kristopher (Kayleen) Slade, Cameron Slade, Brendan Slade, MaKayla Slade and Austin Slade; great-grandson, Kaiden Slade; brother, William (Connie) Slade; sisters, Katherine Atwell, Carol (Derek) Frakes and Marianne Cullen; sisters-in-law, Charlene Slade and Linda Neumeyer; brother-in-law, Richard (Roseann) Neumeyer; many nieces and nephews.      Dr. Erwin Ray Slade was born on November 30, 1918 in Whatcom County, Washington.1,2 He was the son of Ray Harvey Slade and Merth May Baldwin.1
     Erwin married Martha Leona Mears, daughter of Harry Pinkerton Mears and Nina Bula Fisher, on September 23, 1942 in University Christ Church, Seattle, King County, Washington.3 Leona was the daughter of Harry and Nina Mears.4 Erwin died on June 30, 2001 in Seattle, King County, Washington, at age 82.5 He was buried in Evergreen Washelli Memorial Park, Seattle, King County, Washington.2 His obituary read as follows:

      Erwin Ray Slade, M.D., surgeon and longtime family practitioner in Snohomish, WA, passed away June 30, 2001 in Seattle, WA.

He and his wife had returned to the Northwest from their retirement home in LaQuinta, CA this spring after he suffered a sudden illness. He had enjoyed a well-deserved retirement filled with many hours of golf in the sunny climate of the desert.

He was born in Lynden, WA in 1918 to Ray and Merth Slade. He married Leona M. Mears in 1942. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves and was re-activated in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War as full Commander.

He opened his Family Practice Clinic in Snohomish in 1946, where he retired after a successful career spanning multiple generations of patients. Dr. Slade was one of the last of a generation of country doctors who made house calls and maintained a combined practice of OB-gyn, General Family Practice and surgical patients. He was a well respected member of the Snohomish County Medical Community, having served many positions on the medical staff for both General Hospital of Everett and Providence Hospital (Everett).

Dr. Slade had attended the University of Washington and graduated from medical school at Oregon Health Science University, where he was initiated into the Golden Circle of 50 Year Alumni just this spring. He had been a long time Tyee Member at the University of Washington and an avid Husky supporter.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Leona; four children, Craig and wife, Marci, of Quincy, Sandra and husband, Robert Arnzen, of Portland, OR, Brian and wife, Linda of Seattle, and Sue Anne and Andrew Pickard, of Seattle; 14 grandchildren and two great- grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, July 7th at 1:00pm at Hoffner Fisher & Harvey Chapel, Seattle, WA.
