     Martin Slade was born in December, 1845 in Bavaria [Martin's tombstone shows date of birth Dec 21, 1842].2,3
     Martin married Caroline Hoffman on January 5, 1869.1,4 Martin's surname clearly appears as SLADE on his marraige certificate and other early documents, however, most of his census and other later documents spell it SLATE] Martin Slade died on September 11, 1910 at age 64.3 He was buried in Greenbrier Cemetery, Robertson County, Tennessee.3

     Hattie married Henry Guy Slade, son of George Slade and Selina Eliza Guy.3 Hattie Elenia Miller died on August 4, 1965 at age 884 and was buried in Elmlawn Cemetery, Kenmore, Erie County, New York.4
