     Joseph Slade was born circa 1841 in England.1 He was the son of Thomas Slade.2 Joseph Slade immigrated from in 1858.3 He enlisted in Co C of 67th Illinois Infantry Regiment on June 2, 1862 and was discharged sometime in October.4,5
     Joseph married Rosa Burns.1
     Joseph married second Jennie Johnson, daughter of Richard Johnson and Sarah Nigleton, on September 25, 1901 in Hampton, Franklin County, Iowa.2 Joseph Slade died on March 5, 1923 in Clinton Twp, Linn County, Iowa.6 He was buried in West Fork Cemetery, Dougherty, Franklin County, Iowa.7
