     Sherry married David N. Slade, son of Lavern Elmer Slade and Lillian Rose DeMarco.1 Sherry died on October 6, 2016 in Genesee County, Michigan, at age 65.1 Her obituary read as follows:

      Stashonsky, Sherry “Ms. Stash” Of Grand Blanc; age 65; died Thursday, October 6, 2016 at Genesys Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint 48507. Cremation will take place following the service. Visitation 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Sherry was born on December 12, 1950, the daughter of the late Joe and Dorothy Stashonsky and grew up in Hazel Park. A graduate of Michigan State University, she spread her love of the Spartans to her entire family. After graduation, she had a successful career at Huron Valley Schools as an educator and literacy coach, sharing her love of reading to multiple generations. A strong, free spirited woman, she was married to David Slade for more than 39 years, forming a loving household to raise their children. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother who would do anything for her four grandchildren. She enjoyed vacationing with her family, especially to the Rockies and Tetons, and found comfort in her home away from home, Crested Butte. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Huron Valley Educational Foundation www.HVEF.net. This foundation is dedicated to supporting students and teachers, a cause Sherry held dear to her heart. Surviving are husband, David Slade; two children, Jason (Stacy) Slade and Haley Slade; four grandchildren, Olivia, Carter, Maxwell, and Leland; brother Randall (Irene) Stashonsky; two nieces, Hana and Ina Stashonsky.
