     Nelda Lipf was born on June 15, 1915 in Yacolt, Clark County, Washington.2,3 She was the daughter of William Lipf and Nevada Mulder.4
     Nelda married first John A. Schilling on April 22, 1942 in Clark County, Washington.1
     Nelda married second Sylvester Slade, son of Andrew A. Slade and Mary Katherine Mantych, on July 9, 1951 in Skamania County, Washington.5 Nelda died on September 14, 1979 at age 64.3 She was buried in Willamette National Cemetery, Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon.3

David R. Slade1,2

(16 February 1937 - 28 January 2021)
     David R. Slade was born on February 16, 1937 in Decatur, Macon County, Illinois.1,2 He was the son of Joseph Lawrence Slade and Marie Stephens.1
     David married Sharon McKee on July 9, 1955.1,3 David R. Slade and Sharon McKee were living in July, 2003 in Decatur, Illinois.1 David died on January 28, 2021 at age 83.3 He was buried in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Decatur, Macon County, Illinois.3 His obituary read as follows:

      David R. Slade, Sr. Feb. 16, 1937 - Jan. 28, 2021 DECATUR - On Thursday January 28, 2021, David R. Slade, Sr, of Decatur, IL passed into eternal rest at Decatur Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family. David was married to Sharon McKee on July 9, 1955 and they spent more than 65 wonderful years together.

David was a lifelong member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Decatur as well as a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #577. He also served his community for nearly 30 years on the Decatur Fire Department, retiring as a captain in 1994. He enjoyed boating, water skiing, and spending time with his friends and family.

He was born to Joe L. and Marie (Stephens) Slade on February 16, 1937. He was preceded in death by his brother Jim and his sister Nancy. He is survived by his wife Sharon; his son David, Jr (Sherri); his daughter Julie Mendenhall (Todd); his grandchildren: Michael (Katy), and Caitlin; their mother Barbara; and great-grandchildren: Oliver and Evelyn.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 2, 2021, at St. Patrick Catholic Church; visitation will be one hour prior in the church. David's family has asked for a private burial ceremony. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ss. James and Patrick Parish or St. Patrick School.

     William married Ethel Marion German in 1902.5 William Albert Slade was a locomotive driver in the steel works.5 William died on April 5, 1957 in Ellwood City, Lawrence County, Pennsylvania.4 He was buried in Locust Grove Cemetery, Elwood City, Beaver County, Pennsylvania.4
