     Daniel Slade was born on December 3, 1800 in Barkhamsted, Litchfield County, Connecticut.2 He was the son of Abner Slade and Olive Stanclift.1 Daniel Slade was New Tag in 1806 in Connecticut.3 He resided in Eatonton, Putnam County, Georgia, in 1834.2
     Daniel married Elizabeth W. Trippe, daughter of John Trippe and Betsey Hunt, on November 30, 1836 in Putnam County, Georgia.4,2 He owned lot # 81 in the town of Eatonton between 1863 and 1865.5 Daniel died on February 27, 1875 in Eatonton, Georgia, at age 74.2 He obituary read: Daniel Slade was born in Connecticut, December 3, 1800; removed to Eatonton, Ga., in 1834; was married November 30, 1836, and died February 27, 1875.6

     Lyle Burton Slade was born on November 27, 1916 in Winhall, Bennington County, Vermont.1 He was the son of Leo Ora Slade and Harriet Belle French.1
     Lyle married Eleanor Bostwick.2
     Lyle married second Louise M. Gleason, daughter of Clarence Gleason and Bertha Dunham, on July 30, 1959 in Wardsboro, Windham County, Vermont.3 Lyle died on November 5, 2000 in White River Junction, Windsor County, Vermont, at age 833 and was buried in Bondville Cemetery, Windham County, Vermont.2 His obituary read as follows:

      WINDSOR -- Lyle B. Slade, 83, died Sunday, Nov. 5, 2000, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in White River Junction.He was born Nov. 27, 1916, in Winhall, son of Leo and Harriet (French) Slade.He attended school in Winhall and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Louise Gleason in Warsboro on July 30, 1959. They lived in Winhall for many years before moving to Windsor in 1995.Most recently, Mr. Slade had been employed at the Stratton Mountain Ski Area as a building maintenance technician until retiring in 1990. He enjoyed hunting in his leisure times.Survivors include his wife of Windsor; one daughter, Terry Cameron of Windsor; from a previous marriage, one son, Edward Slade, and one daughter, Marion Mitchell; one brother, Francis Slade of Bennington; three sisters, June Knapp of Bennington, Norma Cattanach of Brattleboro, and Pearl Lavigne of Springfield; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.He was predeceased by one brother.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 8, at 2 p.m. at the Knight Funeral Home in Windsor.Brattleboro Reformer (VT) - Tuesday, November 7, 2000.4
