     Clarence E. Slade Jr. was born on July 28, 1906 in King County, Washington.^1,2 He was the son of Clarence E. Slade and Olive Adele Jones.¹
     Clarence married Luder E. [?]³ Clarence died on September 28, 1952 at age 46.² He was buried in River View Cemetery, Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon.²

     Phillip Clinton Slade was born on February 18, 1915 in Seattle, King County, Washington.¹ He was the son of Phillip Clinton Slade and Wilma A. Whitaker.²
     Phillip married Marie L. Flanders.³ Phillip died on June 14, 1998 at age 83.¹ He was buried in Willamette National Cemetery, Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon.¹ His obituary read as follows:

      A funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, June 19, 1998, in Lincoln Willamette Chapel for Philip Clinton Slade, who died June 14 of lung cancer at age 83.

Mr. Slade was born Feb. 18, 1915, in Seattle. He moved to the Los Angeles area as a youth. In the 1930s and 1940s, he served in the U.S. Navy. He worked for Pacific Telephone in Los Angeles for 22 years. He moved to the Oak Grove area in 1964 and owned and operated Copy Van P.M. Printing Inc. for 19 years before retiring in 1980. He had been financial secretary for the Milwaukie Elks Club for many years. He married Marie L. Flanders in the early 1940s; she died in 1983.

Survivors include his daughter, Mary Lou Rupp of Milwaukie; and two grandchildren.

Private interment will be in Willamette National Cemetery. The family suggests remembrances to Clackamas Community College Foundation.¹

     Jane Guthrie Spence was born on May 23, 1831 in Kirkwall, Orkney, Scotland.^3,4 She was baptized on June 8, 1831 in Kirkden, Angus, Scotland,³, the daughter of Jean Cristie & James Maxwell Spence.³
     Jane married Charles Slade, son of Moses Slade and Jane Sadler, in 1852 in Victoria, Australia.⁵ Jane died in 1899.⁶ Jane died on November 1, 1899 at age 68⁵ and was buried in Creswick Cemetery, Creswick, Hepburn Shire, Victoria, Australia.⁶

     Jane Sadler was born on November 26, 1799 in Surrey, England.² She was baptized on January 5, 1800; at St Bartholomew, Leigh.^1,2
     Jane married Moses Slade on July 6, 1828 in Lambeth, Surrey, England, at St Luke, West Norwood.³ Jane died in August, 1832 at age 32⁴ and was buried in St Matthew's Church Brixton, Lambeth, Surrey, England.⁴

     Sarah Jane Neave was born in 1853 in Victoria, Australia,², the daughter of Catherine Williams and William Neave.²
     Sarah married Charles Edward Slade, son of Charles Slade and Jane Guthrie Spence, in 1879 in Victoria.¹ Sarah died in August, 1926² and was buried in Creswick Cemetery, Creswick, Hepburn Shire, Victoria, Australia.²

     Charles Edward Slade was born on October 14, 1853 in Spring Hill, Macedon Ranges Shire, Victoria, Australia.¹ He was the son of Charles Slade and Jane Guthrie Spence.¹
     Charles married Sarah Jane Neave in 1879 in Victoria, Australia,², the daughter of Catherine Williams and William Neave.³ Charles died on February 7, 1919 at age 65.¹ He was buried in Broken Hill Cemetery, Broken Hill City, New South Wales, Australia.¹

     Charles Edward Maxwell Slade was born in 1881 in Crestwick, Victoria, Australia.¹ He was the son of Charles Edward Slade and Sarah Jane Neave.¹
