     Edna married first Leslie Worth Slade, son of Worth Conger Slade and Hazel Mary Belle McGuire, in Cook County, Illinois.2 Leslie died in 1955.
     Edna married second Bertram Laurence Snyder M.D. in 1959.2 Edna died on April 4, 2013 at age 92.2 She was buried in Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery, Phoenix, Maricopa County, Arizona.2 Her obituary read as follows:

      Edna Donna Snyder 92, wife of Bertram L. Snyder M.D. (deceased) passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2013.
"Donna" was born in Chicago, Illinois on January 24th, 1921 to parents Bernard and Johanna Kruszynski (nee Pipowski). She grew up in Chicago, modeled and operated an elevator in the popular Marshall Fields Department store downtown. In the 1940's she married Leslie Worth Slade, her high school sweetheart. The couple moved to Phoenix where, following Leslie's untimely death in 1955, Donna worked as a draftsman. She married her second husband, Bertram Laurence Snyder M.D. in 1959. Donna was a beautiful and talented woman. She was accomplished at watercolor, jewelry, and quilting.....she loved gardening and tennis. Active in the community, Donna owned and operated a Sunnyslope area artist's supply shop "DES's Art Mart" in the 60's. John C. Lincoln Hospital benefited from her many hours of service as president of the auxiliary. Donna began the hospital newsletter and later served as a volunteer in the food bank. Donna is survived by her children: Cynthia Graves (Tim) and Ed Snyder (Christine); she is also survived by six grandchildren and one great grandson. The family would like to express its gratitude to Tangelo Grove care home for the loving care and respect the entire staff and owner, Julie Lieberman, gave to Donna during her final days. A graveside service will be held at Greenwood Memory Lawn, 2300 West Van Buren Street, Phoenix, AZ 85009 on Friday, April 12, 2013 at 12 Noon. Published in The Arizona Republic on April 10, 2013.2

     Glenann M. Kessler went by Peach.2 She was born on April 23, 1933 in Dubuque County, Iowa.2 She was the daughter of Louis F. Kessler and F. Gendoris Callahan.2
     Glenann married Roger Edward Slade, son of Joseph Worth Slade and Irene L. Moore, on July 28, 1952.1 Glenann died on August 9, 2013 at age 80.2 She was buried in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Dubuque, Dubuque County, Iowa.1 Her obituary read as follows:

      Mrs. Glenann M. "Peach" Slade, 80, of Dubuque, passed away peacefully Friday, Aug. 9, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center-Dubuque.

A private service will be held today at Sisters of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Burial services will be held on Monday, Aug. 12, Mount Calvary Cemetery. Leonard Funeral Home and Crematory, 2595 Rockdale Road, is in charge of arrangements.

Peach was born in Dubuque, on April 23, 1933, daughter of Louis F. and F. Glendoris (Callahan) Kessler. She attended Nativity Catholic School and graduated from The Visitation Academy in 1951.

She married her childhood sweetheart and love of her life, Roger E. Slade, on July 28, 1952. Roger and Peach were married for five short years until his untimely death on May 11, 1958, at the age of 24. They had five children together.

She graduated from Mercy School of Nursing in 1963 and was employed at Mercy Hospital until 1969. While working for the city of Dubuque health department, Peach found her passion caring for children as a school nurse in the parochial school system for countless years until her retirement. She was a strong and compassionate woman who cherished her family and friends.

Surviving are her five children, Suzanne (Dennis) McCarthy, of Dubuque, Roger (Julia) Slade, of Hong Kong, China; Steve (Teresa) Slade, of Dubuque, Sara (Gary) Evers, of St. Paul, Minn., and Peter (Georgia) Slade, of Dubuque; sister, Mary Lou (Jack) Powell, of Carrollton, Texas; brother, Bill (Kay) Kessler, of Cuba City, Wis; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She also was preceded in death by her parents and her brother-in-law, B. Michael Slade.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dubuque Alzheimer's Association, 5900 Saratoga Road, Dubuque, IA 52002.
