     Joshua Agee Slade was born circa 1946 in Magnolia, Marengo County, Alabama.1 He was the son of Sylvester Ager Slade Jr. and Mabel Parsons.1 Joshua died on September 1, 2016 in Adger, Jefferson County, Alabama.1 His obituary read as follows:

      Joshua "Agee" Slade, 70, of Adger, AL passed away Thursday, September 1, 2016. He attended Mud Creek Baptist Church. Agee's career was in land surveying. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his parents,
Sylvester and Mable Slade and his sister,
Pat Cottingham. Agee is survived by his daughters,
Leisa (Ronald) Pickett and
Tonya Slade; his grandchildren, Jeremy, Emily, Christian and Katie; his
brother, Buddy (Sherrell) Slade; his sisters,
Donna Burks,
Barbara (Dan) Mullinax,
Carolyn (Nick) Campisi and
Marolyn (Jimmy) Box; his brother in law, Meade Cottingham;
several nieces, nephews, and extended loving family. Funeral service will be Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Bessemer Brown Service Funeral Home with burial at Mud Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Bill Brewer and Rev. Justin Salter will be officiating.
