     Dorothy Mildred Millett was born on January 8, 1917 in Columbus Twp, Bartholomew County, Indiana.1 Dorothy was the daughter of Rose Reed and William Millett.1
     Dorothy married Harold Gilbert Slade, son of Franklin Ezra Slade and Myrtle May Canaday, on January 30, 1937.1 Dorothy died on May 6, 2008 at age 911 and was buried in Miami Valley Memory Gardens, Centerville, Warren County, Ohio.1 Her obituary read as follows:

      SLADE, Dorothy (nee: Millett) 91 entered eternal peace on Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at the Wood Glen Nursing Home in Centerville after a long illness. Born January 8, 1917 in Columbus, IN to Rose Reed and William Millett. She retired from Elder-Beerman, having started in the old Elder Store in downtown Dayton and later moving out to the Centerville store. She married Harold G. Slade on January 30, 1937. He preceded her in death in February 11, 1988. She is also preceded in death by 4 sisters and 4 brothers. She is survived by three sons: Richard (Mary) Slade of West Bend, WI, Thomas (Bernice) Slade of Miamisburg and Charles (Marsha) Slade of Tomahawk, WI., four grandson's, Richard (Sherry) Slade II of Brighton, MI, Col. David (Suzanne) Slade of Aviano, Italy, Brian (Lisa) Slade of Zeeland, MI and Bradley (Tracie) Slade of Wildwood, MO, five granddaughters: Tammie (Ron) Gordon of Oak Creek, WI, Tonya (Greg) Dudley of Dayton, Charla (Tim) Layer of Kettering, Susan (Damon) Oedy of Indianapolis, IN, Carolyn (Sherman) Everett of Houston, TX, 22 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren, sisters in law, Janet (Harold) West of Beavercreek and Mary Slade of Centerville, Brother in law, Mentor Slade of Dayton and many nieces and nephews. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Bellbrook.       SLADE, Thomas E. Age 78, of Miamisburg, passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2018. Tom was born in Dayton on August 29, 1940 to the late Harold & Dorothy (Millett) Slade. He graduated from Wilbur Wright H.S. class of 1959. Tom served in the U.S. Navy, where he met his wife while stationed in Newfoundland, Canada. He went to work at General Motors in 1968 and retired in 2001. Tom belonged to a hunting club in southern Ohio. Every fall he and his brothers went deer hunting in Wisconsin. Tom loved to spend his free time on his boat fishing. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Bernice Slade; daughters, Susan (Damon) Oedy and Carolyn (Sherman) Everett; grandchildren, Hannah, Mackenzie, Connor and Ellis; brothers, Richard Slade and Charles (Marsha) Slade; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 2, 2018 from 1-3pm at Newcomer South Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439. The memorial service will follow at 3pm. He was born June 28, 1946 to the late Harry Marshall and Ruby Williams Kelly, and was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry Slade and Jessie Slade and two sisters, Patsy Brooks and Terry Fryman. He was a retired electrician.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Coffey Slade; a daughter, Tina (Paul) Roberts, Cynthiana; a son, Randall (Jeff Manning) Hicks, Naples, Fla; three brothers, Danny (Debbie) Kelly, Michael Kelly and Erman Kelly, all of Cynthiana; a sister, Nancy Argo, Cynthiana; two grandchildren, Madison Frodelius (Kyle Martin) and Alex Roberts, both of Cynthiana; and a great-grandchild, Corbin Martin.
