     Gordon married Willie Cecil Gray, daughter of William Gray and Susie Ward, in 1928.1 Gordon Keith Slade resided in New Braunfels, Comal County, Texas, in 1982. Gordon died on March 12, 1984 at age 762 and was buried in Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park, New Braunfels, Guadalupe County, Texas.3 His obituary in the El Dorado News Times, Wednesday, March 14, 1984 read:
     Gordon K. Slade, 76, of New Braunfels, Texas, died Monday in a New Braunfels hospital. He was a retired automotive salesman, a veteran of World War II, and a member of the First Baptist Church of New Braunfels. Survivors include his wife, Willie C. (G.) Slade of new Braunfels; three daughters, Merle Wendall of New Braunfels, Majorie S. Graham of Sacramento, Calif., Ardth Marks of Pine Bluff; three sons, Gordon W. Slade of Tom Ball, Texas, Dale Slade of New Braunfels, Gary Slade of Boyertown, Penn; two sisters, Mrs. Geraline Bernard and Mrs. Kathleen Smith both of El Dorado, two brothers, Joe Slade of El Dorado and Warner Brown Slade of Kilgore, Texas; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park in New Braunfels, Texas, with the Rev. Bill Arnold officiating, under the direction of Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home of New Braunfels.

     Florence married Paul Tinsley Bernard.2 Florence Geraldine Slade (an unknown value.)2 Florence died on November 5, 1988 at age 78.2 Her obituary in the El Dorado News-Times, Monday, November 7, 1988 read as follows:
     Mrs. Geraldine Slade Bernard, 78, 628 N. Washington, died Saturday, Nov. 5, in a local hospital. Mrs. Bernard was born Feb. 5, 1910, in El Dorado, the daughter of Gideon Edgar and Martha Matilda Brown Slade. She was a retired sales clerk for Samples and M. M. Cohn, a life-long resident of El Dorado and a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Paul Edgar Bernard of Grand Prairie, Texas, and Gerald Bernard of Ardmore, Okla; one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Visoski of Houston; two brothers, Joe Slade of El Dorado and W. B. Slade of Kilgore, Texas; one sister, Mrs. Kathleen Smith of El Dorado; and four grandchildren. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Young's Chapel with the Rev. Van Evans officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of Young's Funeral Directors. The family will be at Mrs. Bernard's residence. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church.

     Antonette married Mr. Cabaniss circa 1880.2
     Antonette married second William Little Slade, son of Joseph H. Slade and Elizabeth M. Dumas, on October 15, 1899 in Arkansas.3 Census excerp. She applied for civil war widows pension on August 12, 1916 and received $ 50. This was apparently based upon military service by her first husband.4 She applied for a second pension and gave the birth & death for William Little Slade.4 In February, 1932 Antonette Garland Ivy resided in Strong, Union County, Arkansas, with Mrs. H. F. Cabaniss.4 Antonette died on September 13, 1937 in Arkansas at age 78.4 She was buried in Teel Cemetery, Union County, Arkansas.4

     William served in the Seventh Battallion of the Confederate Georgia Cavalry [State Guards] during the Civil War.6 His wife Catharine died about 1868.7

He enlisted into E Company, 1st Volunteers Inf (Georgia) on May 19 1861and was mustered out on Mar 18 1862 at Augusta, Georgia. He re-enlisted into 12th Bttn L A (Georgia) on May 1 1862 and was promoted to 4th Sergt (Full, Vol) (date not indicated). He was wounded on Jul 9 1864 at Monocacy, Maryland.2 Samuel died on July 10, 1874 of wounds while serving in 12th Bttn L A (Georgia.)2

      John Long Slade died 1 July 1858 at residence of Thomas J. Adams in Washington County, youngest son of Mrs. Elephair Slade, age 14 yrs. 5 mos. 5 days.1

     Mamie married Richard Moss Mitchell on October 27, 1915.3 In 1931, Mamie had possession of the Simon Slade family bible.3,4 Mamie Louise Slade said in letter to Helen Prescott, dated October 10, 1931 from Texas, that she had complete record of one of her grandfather's brothers family. This would be one of Simon Slade's sons.4 Mamie Louise Slade resided in 622 West Poplar, Griffin, Spalding County, Georgia.3 Mamie died on May 3, 1979 at age 87. She (an unknown value.)5

Martha Anne Gardner was living in December, 1931 in Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia.6 According to the will of W. Z. Gardner, Mattie Gardner Slade married a Mr. Miller sometime after her husband George W. Slade died.7 Martha died on October 15, 1959 at age 79 and was buried in Midway UM Church Cemetery, Griffin, Spalding County, Georgia.5
