     Nancy Rebecca Arminta Hollis was born on March 15, 1860 in Harrison County, Texas. She was the daughter of James Madison Hollis and Sarah Satterwhite.
     Nancy married William Henry Colvin on December 15, 1878 in Texas.

     Nancy married William L Baker before 1904. Nancy died on September 30, 1945 in Dill City, Washita County, Oklahoma, at age 85. She was buried in Elm Flats Cemetery, Washita County, Oklahoma. [Place of burial on death certificate, listed as Pleasant View is incorrect.]

     James Madison Hollis was born on September 16, 1822 in Jasper County, Georgia.¹ He was the son of William Hollis and Rutha P. Robertson.
     James married Sarah Satterwhite, daughter of Edward Satterwhite and Susan Bartee, on December 2, 1841 in Harris County, Georgia.^2,1 James Madison Hollis was purchased land Affidavit of Settlement by J. M. Hollis requesting a survey. He was purchased land Affidavit field notes for abstract 343, ordered copy from Arch & Recds Div, Texas GLO. James Madison was redheaded. The men operated a whisky still. Much of the information was obtained from granddaughter Ophelia who said James Madison went to TX, following the Sabine River after crossing into TX. He was purchased land Land patent issued: 160 Acres, located NW of Marshall, just East of Upshur Co. line & East of Old Diana in Upshur Co.³ He was purchased land Certificate of survey dated 6 Jan 1865 stating the land was surveyed 27 May 1859. 160 Acres on the waters of Big Cypress Bayou, N 55 W from Marshall... sold to James Caldwell in Harrison County, Texas, on August 7, 1866.⁴ He was purchased land J. M. Hollis, of Cooke County, bought 50 ac from John Roushey and wife Mary, of Cooke County, for $275.⁵ He was sold land J. M. Hollis and Sarah, his wife, of Cooke County, sold 01 ac to F. M. Stinson, for $10 cash paid in hand. on October 20, 1881.⁶ He was named guardian for James Madison Hollis on February 2, 1883 in Sulphur Springs, Hopkins County, Texas, M.⁷ J. M. Hollis and Sarah, his wife, of Hopkins County, sold 50 ac to Amos Shockley of Cooke County, for $400. in 50 Ac of Fauset Survey, 7 miles NE of Gainsville, Cooke County, Texas, on December 27, 1883.⁸ Grandaughter Ophelia Baker said they lived at Nocona, Grand Saline, Terrell, Red River Station, Grayson Ranch, and Sherman.⁹ He was likely buried in Oakdale Cemetery, North of Mountain View, where several members of his family are buried. at age 87.¹⁰ His obituary read as follows:

      Death of J.M. Hollis

Elder James Madison Hollis died Saturday afternoon at the home of his son-in-law, J.A. Colwell at his place, aged over 89 years. Death was caused by a general breaking down due to old age. He had been in failing health for about two years.

The deceased was born September 19, 1820, in Troop County, Georgia, where he grew up and was married in 1840 to Sarah Satterwhite. In 1856 the family moved to Harrison County, Texas. In 1848 the deceased became a minister of the Primitive Baptist Church and continued to preach until about two years ago. In 1894 the family moved to southeast Washita County, (Oklahoma Territory) and have resided there and in Mountain View up to his death. His dearly beloved wife died in 1901, after 60 years of perfect married happiness. Eleven children were born to this union, nine of whom grew to maturity. Those now living are: Mrs Susan Colwell, D.F, J.T., J.L., and A.M. Hollis.¹⁰ He was buried in Oakdale Cemetery, Washita County, Oklahoma.¹¹

     Sarah Satterwhite was born in July, 1820 in Harris County, Georgia.¹ She was the daughter of Edward Satterwhite and Susan Bartee.
     Sarah married James Madison Hollis, son of William Hollis and Rutha P. Robertson, on December 2, 1841 in Georgia.^2,3 Sarah Satterwhite witnessed the sale of James Madison Hollis on August 7, 1866; 160 Acres on the waters of Big Cypress Bayou, N 55 W from Marshall... sold to James Caldwell.⁴ J. M. Hollis and Sarah, his wife, of Hopkins County, sold 50 ac to Amos Shockley of Cooke County, for $400. in 50 Ac of Fauset Survey, 7 miles NE of Gainsville, Cooke County, Texas, on December 27, 1883.⁵ 1900 Washita CO Indian Territory census, ED 211 pg 8A, b. Jul 1820 age 79, married 58 years. Buried in Oakdale Cem, Mt View, Kiowa Co Ok. with husband.-From John Hutchins 3/16/92. Same information from Audrey Hollis Caughron. 'Sallie' was listed in 1880 census, Harrison Co, TX. Sarah Satterwhite was died on November 14, 1901 in Washita County, Indian Territory (now Oklahoma).⁶ Sarah apparently died after 1900 as she does not appear in 1910 census. It is likely she is buried in one of the unmarked graves in Oakdale Cemetery, north of Mountain View, where several of her children are buried.⁷

     William Edward Hollis was born in 1843 in Harris County, Georgia.¹ He was the son of James Madison Hollis and Sarah Satterwhite. William Edward Hollis served in Enlisted in Waterhouse's Regt age 20 on March 31, 1862 in Texas.²
     William married Ardecia Ann Bateman, daughter of Alfred J. Bateman and Margaret C. [?], circa 1864 in Texas. William died in February, 1881 in Hopkins County, Texas.^3,4 He left a will in Texas and it was probated 1883.⁵ He were placed under guardianship of James Madison Hollis on February 2, 1883 in Sulphur Springs, Hopkins County, Texas.⁶

     Derius Franklin Hollis went by Dock.¹ He was born in 1847 in Harris County, Georgia.² He was the son of James Madison Hollis and Sarah Satterwhite.
     Derius married first J. G. Alexander on October 6, 1867 in Harrison County, Texas.³ Bill of Sale for Cotton crop to R. Torrens in Sulphur Springs, Hopkins County, Texas, on November 12, 1870.⁴

     Derius married third Altheatha Agatha Bowen on July 2, 1889 in Sulphur Springs, Texas, married by J. F. Hodges.⁶ Derius died on December 4, 1912 in Mountain View, Kiowa County, Oklahoma, Deries F. on death certificate.⁷ He was buried in Oakdale Cemetery, Washita County, Oklahoma, 2.5 miles North of Mountain View.^1,8

     Joseph Thomas Jefferson Hollis was New Tag on August 14, 1851 in Harris County, Georgia.¹ He was born in April, 1852 in Georgia.² He was the son of James Madison Hollis and Sarah Satterwhite.
     Joseph married Rebecca Jane Stockton on April 18, 1871.¹ Joseph died after 1900.

     Daniel Thomas Hollis Could be James Daniel. Stout 1860 Harrison Co Tx census, pg 509, age 6. 1880 Hopkins Co TX census, pg 10, ED 58. age 25. 1900 Van Zandt Co TX census,? (Gard.) He was born in 1854 in Harris County, Georgia. He was the son of James Madison Hollis and Sarah Satterwhite.
     Daniel married Sophia [?] between 1878 and 1879.

     John Isaac Hollis was born circa 1857 in Harrison County, Texas, age from 1870 census is 13. He was the son of James Madison Hollis and Sarah Satterwhite.
     John married Matilda Cox on January 13, 1881 in Cooke County, Texas.¹
