     Ernest Randolph Slade was born on July 31, 1895 in Fulton County, New York.1,3 He was the son of Albert Parsons Slade and Alice Harrison.1 He received his bachelor degree in Civil Engineering in 1918 at Union College, Schenectady, N. Y. and later did graduate work in engineering at George Washington University. During WWI, he served as a Second Lieutenant in Corps of Engineers.3
     Ernest married Alice Conrey, daughter of George Fred Conrey and Minnie B. Hunt, circa 1919.4 Ernest Randolph Slade was registered for World War 2 draft on April 26, 1942 while living in Chevy Chase, Montgomery County, Maryland.2 He died on September 18, 1957 in Chevy Chase, Maryland, at age 62 At the time of his death, he was special assistant to the Director of Engineering and Technical Services Division at the Bureau of Yards and Docks, U.S. Navy Department in Washington, D. C.3 He was buried in Gloversville, Fulton County, New York.3
