Susan (Slade) Thomas, beloved wife, mother and grandmother born and raised in Virginia and longtime resident of Richfield, Minn., died Sept. 23, 2010, at age 67 surrounded by her family. She is survived by husband, Mike; children/grandchildren, Tim (Kelly) Thomas, Tucker and Megan, Todd (Chris) Thomas, Julianna, Jake and Conor, Kris (Mark) Doering; siblings, Sandy Maroste, Sam Slade, Bonnie (Jerry) Zimmerman and Sally Slade. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bert and Arthemise Slade.
Sue's favorite place of employment was as the secretary to the general managers of the Minnesota North Stars for over 18 years. Following that, she worked for Valspar Corporation in Minneapolis. Sue also enjoyed being a nanny for several families in the Twin Cities area. Her most enjoyable times were spent on Lake Vermillion and traveling. Sue loved to entertain and cook for friends and family. Sue Thomas , wife, mother, grandmother and friend, will be deeply missed by all.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the ICU Staff at Fairview Southdale Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial 1:30 p.m. Monday at St. Richard's Catholic Community, 7540 Penn Avenue South, with visitation two hours prior to the Mass at Church.1
