Hilda Slade1

     Hilda Slade was born on February 15, 1931 in Newfoundland, Canada.1 She was the daughter of Malcom Cleverly Slade and Louise Allen.1
     Hilda married Richard J. Waine.2,3 Hilda died on July 11, 2016 in Bulloch County, Georgia, at age 85.3 She was buried in Brooklet City Cemetery, Bulloch County, Georgia.3 Her obituary read as follows:

      Hilda Slade Waine, age 85, passed away Monday, July 11, 2016, at Ogeechee Area Hospice surrounded by her loving family.
Hilda was born and raised in Kingwell, Placentia Bay, Newfoundland, Canada, where she worked as a hospital dietician. She moved to Richmond Hill, Ga., in 1957, living there for five years, and then settled in Savannah, where she lived until 1992. While in Savannah, Hilda helped her husband run his construction business, R.J. Waine Contractors, and was a caring and loving homemaker, mother and wife.
In 1992, she and her husband semi-retired and moved to Brooklet. She was a member of the Episcopal faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Malcom and Louisa Slade; her loving husband, Richard J. Waine; sons-in-law, Harry Brandt and Billy Finnegan; brother, Albert Slade; sisters, Lena Rose, Ada Collett, Stella Boutcher; and an infant sister.
Hilda is survived by her son, Richie Waine, and his wife, Gail, of Richmond Hill; daughters, Ann Finnegan of Brooklet, Deborah Waine Gray, and her husband, Bob, of Conyers; Cynthia Waine Brandt of Anchorage, Alaska; Tanya Waine Herndon, and her husband, Kevin, of Richmond Hill; brother, Berkley Slade, and his wife, Ettie, of Arnolds Cove, Newfoundland, Canada; sister, Violet Slade of Arnolds Cove, Newfoundland, Canada; grandchildren, Kevin Finnegan, and his wife, Kali, of Richmond Hill; Tim Waine, and his wife, Lindsay, of Pooler; Robert Gray of Conyers, Jennifer Bynum, and her husband, Cameron, of Statesboro; Christina Rentz, and her husband, Joey, of Brooklet; and Brittany Gray of Conyers; great-grandchildren, Liam Bynum, Marcus Rentz, Grayson Finnegan; and many nieces and nephews and friends.
A gathering of family and friends will be held 6 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 14, 2016, at Hodges-Moore Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, July 15, 2015, at Brooklet United Methodist Church with the Reverend Chip Grantham officiating. Burial will follow in Brooklet City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Glen Rose, Kevin Finnegan, Tim Waine, Robert Gray, Cameron Bynum and Joey Rentz.

     Grace Wiggins was born on December 30, 1926 in Craven County, North Carolina,2, the daughter of Ruby Cannon and Dallas Wiggins.2
     Grace married Harry Baxter Slade, son of Joseph Wakeman Slade and Bernice Manala Talbot, circa 1946.1 She had eight grandsons, Andrew, Benjamin, Michael, Nathan, Timothy, Matthew, David and Jacob Slade.2 Grace died on April 20, 2018 at age 912 and was buried in Peninsula Memorial Park, Newport News, Virginia.2

     Samantha married Edward Walker Slade, son of William Slade and Sarah [?], on November 3, 1865 in Cuyahoga County, Ohio.1,5 Samantha was widowed when her husband, Edward, died on July 3, 1867 at age 73.6 Samantha died on March 28, 1890 at age 72.1,7 She was buried in East Cleveland Twp Cemetery, Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio.7

     Billie Margaret Johnson was born on September 22, 1943 in Potter County, Texas.1 She was the daughter of Kenneth Johnson and Eva [?].1
     Billie married Thomas Donovan Slade on August 28, 1968 in Dallas County, Texas.1 Billie Margaret Johnson and Thomas Donovan Slade were divorced in Victoria County, Texas.2 Billie died on July 3, 2011 in Travis County, Texas, at age 67.1 She was buried in Live Oak Cemetery, Travis County, Texas.1 Billie Margaret Johnson/Slade was born September 22, 1943 and passed away on July 3, 2011 at the age of 67. Preceding her in death are her beloved son, Troy Slade, who died of cancer at age 18; and her loving parents, Kenneth and Eva Johnson. She is survived by sisters and brother-in-law, Charlotte Moore, Ella Rode and husband Byron; nephews and nieces, Jay Moore and wife Dana, Jeffery Moore, Kenny Moore, Brenda Jennings and husband Rusty, Beverly Wendlandt and husband Ted and Sherry Moody. She also cherished her relationships with numerous great nephews, nieces and many friends. Billie graduated from McCallum High School and worked at various jobs, the last being the Texas Department of Public Safety, before retiring in 1993 because of a severe disability resulting from a fall. She was a very dedicated worker and well liked by everyone. She received an award for special "recognition and appreciation for many years of outstanding and dedicated service to the Department of Public Safety Christmas Decorating Committee." Billie was very talented and also worked part time decorating cakes and making flower arrangements. Special thanks are given to caregivers Laura Trevino and Janie Reyna, who gave Billie many years of love and special care during the years of her disability. Recognition is given to both Heartland Health Care Center and Odyssey Hospice for their dedicated care and compassion for Billie. Although Billie has now gone to heaven to join her son and parents, she will always remain in the hearts and minds of all who love her. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 S. Congress Ave., Austin, Texas. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Live Oak Cemetery. Pallbeares will be Jay Moore, Jeffery Moore, Kenny Moore, Joe Jennings, Jerry Barth, Edward Barth, Finley Barth and Troy Schrader.
