Anna L. Burks1

(February 1873 - 28 November 1957)
     Anna L. Burks was born in February, 1873 in Missouri.2 She was the daughter of Charles Burks and Emily Virginia VanSickle. Anna married Robert V. Love on August 1, 1903 in Edmond, Oklahoma County, Oklahoma.1 An article in Edmond Sun of Sept 1, 1910, read: "Mrs. Anna Burks Love, Democratic candidate for County Superintendent of Schools, who visited here for a few days, has returned to Oklahoma City to make preparations to resume her school work on September 12."3 Anna was widowed when her husband, Charles, died on September 5, 1922 at age 84.4,5 Anna L. Burks was living on April 24, 1944; in Oklahoma City when mentioned as a survivor, in the obit of her sister Mollie.6 Anna died on November 28, 1957 at age 84.

Charles Edward Love1

(6 November 1908 - 14 January 1956)
     Charles Edward Love was born on November 6, 1908 in Oklahoma.1 He was the son of Robert V. Love and Anna L. Burks.
     Charles married Viola Frances Hall on September 14, 1935 in El Reno, Canadian County, Oklahoma.2 Viola was the daughter of Ada G. and Andrew J. Hall of Oklahoma City.3 Charles Edward Love enlisted in the Army on February 27, 1943 in Fort Macarthur, Sam Pedro County, California.4 Charles died on January 14, 1956 in Los Angeles County, California, at age 47.1

     Nancy Rachel Hardy was born on June 4, 1788 in Virginia.3
     Nancy married Thomas Peter Burks, son of John Burks, on March 19, 1810 in Barren, Kentucky.4,2,5 Applied for a War of 1812 Pension for Thomas Burks, W.O. 2724, service in Capt. John Glover's Company, KY Militia.6 Nancy Rachel Hardy witnessed the Land Grant/Purchase of Thomas Peter Burks on April 5, 1855; by the authority of the 18 Sep, 1850 ScripWarrant Act of 1850 (9 Stat. 520), 40 acres land was granted to Thomas Burks, Captain Glover's Company, Kentucky Militia in the War of 1812. On 5 Apr 1855, Mrs. Nancy Burks, widow of Thomas Burks, returned the land grant to the General Land Office by the Surveyor General and it was reassigned to John T. Bowan.7 Nancy died on January 23, 1877 at age 88.3 She was buried in Murphy-Burks Cemetery, Ste Genevieve, Sainte Genevieve County, Missouri, On her tombstone it says, "Born in Virginia, died in Kentucky."8,3
