     Hollis married Joyce Pitts.1 Hollis died on January 23, 2021 in South Carolina at age 67 after a sudden illness.1,2 His obituary read as follows:

      Hollis Paul Slade, 67, passed away January 23, 2021 after a sudden illness.

He was born in Camden, Arkansas on January 29, 1953.

Hollis was retired from Domtar Papermill, where he was a Fiberline Process Specialist. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, fox hunting, his dogs, deep sea fishing, softball, spending time with his friends and family, especially the love of his life his wife Joyce.

He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Hill Slade; and his nephew, David Paul Slade.

Hollis is survived by his wife, Joyce Pitts-Slade; his mother, Joanna Hollis-Slade-Hanson; his brother, David Slade of Kansas City, Kansas; his sister, Beth Slade-Boling (Mark) of Evansville, Indiana; his step-brother, Mark Wilson (Gail) of Monroe, Louisiana; his step-sister, Sherry Huff (Earl) of Monroe, Louisiana; his nieces and nephew: Jennifer Slade, Sara Boling, and Zac Boling; and his great nephews, Kaden Greening and Paul Solis.

A funeral service will be held at Burroughs Funeral Home, officiated by Rev. Bobby Norris.
