     Velma married Oscar Cleo Slade, son of Oscar W. Peterson and Jane Blanton.1 Velma died on October 28, 2004 in Saint Francois County, Missouri, at age 832 and was buried in Leadwood Cemetery, Saint Francois County, Missouri.2,3 Her obituary read as follows:

Born Feb. 26, 1921, Leadwood to the late George E. and Grace T. (Fleeman) Crump. Preceded in death by husband, Oscar C. Slade; granddaughter, sister, Opal Swyers; brothers: Cecil, Arthur, Earl, Alva, Merle and Omer Crump.

She was a member of Mineral Area Community Elks 2583, Desloge VFW Post 2426, Desloge Eagles Aerie 3350.

Survivors: Sons: Ronald C. Slade and wife Peggy, Ste. Genevieve, Steven L. Slade and wife Sandy, Terre Du Lac; daughters: Jean (Mrs. John Jenkerson), Farmington, Cynthia (Mrs. John Dawson), Bismarck; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother, Delbert Crump and wife Helen, Bonne Terre; sister, Hilda Roberts, Park Hills.

Visitation 6 p.m. today at the C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home, Desloge. Services 1 p.m. Saturday at the Boyer Chapel with Rev. Davey Welker officiating. Burial in Leadwood Cemetery.

     Gordon E. Slade was born circa 1925 in Illinois.2 He was the son of Edward Slade and Elizabeth M. Born.2 Gordon was a World War II Army Air Corps Veteran.3
     Gordon married Carol Adele Keenan.1 She was the daughter of James and May Kenny Keenan.1 Gordon died on April 27, 2014.3 He was buried in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Alsip, Cook County, Illinois.3 His obituary read as follows:

      Gordon E. Slade Age 89, of Frankfort formerly of South Holland, passed away April 27, 2014. Beloved husband of the late Carol nee Keenan; loving father of the late Mark Slade, Marcianne (Robert) Crestani, David Slade and Paul (Margaret) Slade; nurturing grandfather of Julie, Karen, John, Nick, Michael, Eric, Kevin, Patrick and Catherine. He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Elizabeth Slade. Gordon was a World War II Army Air Corps Veteran. Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel 65 Old Frankfort Way Frankfort, IL 60423, Tuesday, April 29th, 2014 from 4 until 8pm. Funeral service Wednesday, April 30th, 2014 with chapel prayers at 9:30 AM to St. Anthony Catholic Church, 7659 W. Sauk Trial, Frankfort, IL 60423 for a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow at Holy Sepluchre Cemetery in Alsip. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Claretian Missonaries, 205 W. Monroe St., Chicago, IL.3

     Ralph Slade was born on December 4, 1930 in Seminole County, Oklahoma.1 He was the son of Ray Oral Slade and Olivia Petrea Nicholson.1
     Ralph married Joan Johnson on April 11, 1949 in Reno, Nevada.1 Ralph died on October 28, 2002 in Eldon, Missouri, at age 71.1 His obituary read as follows:

      Ralph Slade, 71, Eldon, died Oct. 29, 2002, in Eldon.
     He was born Dec. 4, 1930, in Seminole, Okla., a son of Ray O. and Olivia Nickleson Slade. He was married April 11, 1949, in Reno, Nev., to Joan Johnson, who survives at the home.
     
A Navy veteran of the Korean War, he was a member of the Pipe Fitters Union for 271/2 years in the state of California. He worked as a Wal-Mart greeter in Osage Beach for seven years.
     
Other survivors include: four daughters, Louis Stogsdill, Rhonda Vaughn and Susan Baker, all of Eldon, and Jean Knotts, Vacaville, Calif; one brother, Earl Slade, state of South Dakota; two sisters, Hessie Slade and Susan Slade, both of Richmond, Calif; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
     
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. The Rev. Howard Parsons will officiate. Military honors will be at 2 p.m. Friday at VFW Post 2442 of Eldon.1
