     Laura Lyndell Slade was born on May 30, 1943 in College Park, Fulton County, Georgia.1 She was the daughter of Samuel Howell Slade and Mary Elizabeth [?].1
     Laura married Richard Skelton in 1965.1 Laura died on October 12, 2012 in Ocford, Georgia, at age 69.1 Her obituary read as follows:

      Laura Lyndell Skelton of Oxford, GA transitioned peacefully into death
October 12, 2012 with family and loving friends by her side. She was
born in College Park, GA on May 30, 1943 to Samuel Howell and Mary
Elizabeth Slade. Lyndell was a graduate of College Park High School and
North Georgia College (now North Georgia College and State University).
It was at North Georgia College where she met her true love and life
companion, Richard Skelton. The two were married after graduation in
1965. Blessed with incredible intelligence, creativity and a quick wit,
she left a permanent impression with all she met and maintained long
lasting friendships. Lyndell's "green thumb" allowed her to not only
maintain a home full of beautiful tropical plants, but aided in the
success of 'Leaf and Petal' a tropical plant shop and florist she owned
with her husband in the 70's and early 80's.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Howell and Mary Slade and
father-in-law, Bruce Skelton. Lyndell is survived by husband of 47
years, Richard; brother and sister-in-law, Robert Howell and Fran Slade;
son and daughter-in-law, Sam and Jeanne (Carere) Skelton; mother-in-law,
Elizabeth Skelton; 4 grandchildren, Joseph, Hallie, Jaden and Sophia
Skelton; "honorary" children, Sherry and Vince Ross and their children,
Mandy, Ryan,Brooke and Austin; niece, Laura Lyndell and nephew Robert
Howell Jr. plus scores of amazing friends. At her request, no service
will be held. Final Arrangements entrusted to Gregory B. Levett & Sons
