Hannah Miles1

( - October 1813)
     Hannah Miles was born in Baltimore County, Maryland.1
     Hannah married Thomas Slade, son of William Slade and Elizabeth [?], on September 29, 1748 in St John's Parish, Harford County, Maryland.2 Hannah was widowed when her husband, Thomas, died on April 10, 1798 in Caswell County, North Carolina.1 Hannah died in October, 1813 in North Carolina.1

In the Name of God amen, I Hannah Slade of the County of Caswell and State of North Carolina being in health of Body and of perfect mind & memory thanks be given unto god Calling unto mind the mortality of my Body Knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die go make and Ordain this my last Will & Testament, That is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my Soul to god that gave it. And my body I recommend to the Earth to be buryd in a decent christian Buryl at the discretion of my friends Nothing doubting but at the general resurrection, I shal receive the same again by the almighty power of God and as tuching such worldly Estate wherewith, It hath been pleased God to bless me in this life with, I give Devise and Dispose of the same in following and form.
     
First I give & bequeath to my son Ezekiel Slade forty acres of Land to include his present dwelling House & to extend to my west line;
     
Item 2nd I give & bequeath unto my son Jonah Slade the remainder of Land & improvements; three Negroes Dinah David & Milton, they & their increase from the sealing of these presents, with all my stock of every kind all my household and Kitchen furniture & all my plantation tools of every description.
     
Item 3rd I also give & Bequeath to my Son Thomas Slade one Negro Boy, Named Ned - It is my desire and will that the balance of my Estate be Sold to the highest bidder & equally Divided between my Children as follows - William Slade, Nathaniel Slade, Susannah Talbert, Catharine Lea, & Hannah Lea.
     
Item 4th & Lastly I nominate & appoint My Son Thomas Slade sole Executor of this my last will & Testament & I do hereby utterly disallow Revoke & disannul all & every other former Testaments Wills Legacies ore beqiueathes By me in any wise before Named, Willed or Bequeathed Ratifiing & Confirming this and no other to be my last Will & Testament -
     In Witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand & seal this third day of May in the year of our Lord one Thousand eight Hundred & thirteen her Signd, Seald & Delivered In presents of us
