     Russell married Romelle Sell on December 10, 1952 in Juneau, Dodge County, Wisconsin, at St. John's Lutheran Church.2 Russell died on February 27, 2019 in Mesa, Maricopa County, Arizona, at age 89.2 He was buried in Beaver Dam, Dodge County, Wisconsin.2 His obituary read as follows:

      Russell C. Slade, 89, of Mesa, AZ and formerly of Beaver Dam, WI passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. Russell (Russ) was born on April 5, 1929 in Comfrey, Minnesota, the son of Clyde and Meta (Krenz) Slade. He was united in marriage to his loving wife, Romelle “Mel” Sell at St John’s Lutheran Church in Juneau, Wisconsin on December 10, 1952. Russ served his country proudly in the U.S. Army. Together with his wife and family he farmed and worked at maintenance for the Dodgeland School District in Juneau, Wisconsin until 1985 at which time Russ and Mel moved to Mesa, AZ Russ is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Romelle, along with his four children, Debra Kirchoff (Matt Aultman) of Livingston, WI; Barbara Groleau (Mike Bedis) of Oconomowoc, WI; Dale Slade of Mesas, AZ; Mark Slade (Cyndi) of Chandler, AZ; four grandchildren, Staci Whitrock (Randy) of Waupun, WI; Matthew Slade (Sara) of California; Jacob Slade (Suzanne) of Queen Creek, AZ; Luke Slade (Jenny and Faith) of Gilbert, AZ, and three great grandchildren, Mayla Whitrock, Irelynn and Brooklyn Slade. Russ was preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws; one son Larry in February of 1982; three brothers: LeRoy, Carl and Armand; and two great-grandchildren; Landon and Grace Slade along with other relative and friends. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday March 5, 2019 at 11:00 am with a funeral service following at 12:30 pm located at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 3257 E University Dr Mesa, AZ. Burial will be held in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Russ’s memory to Pilgrim Lutheran Church and School. Russell’s family wished to express deep appreciation to the Staff of Companion Hospice in Mesa, AZ for their kindness, care and support.2 He four grandchildren, Staci Whitrock (Randy) of Waupun, WI; Matthew Slade (Sara) of California; Jacob Slade (Suzanne) of Queen Creek, AZ; Luke Slade (Jenny and Faith) of Gilbert, AZ, and three great grandchildren, Mayla Whitrock, Irelynn and Brooklyn Slade.2

Marilyn Caroline Oechsner1

     Marilyn Caroline Oechsner was born on December 30, 1928 in Dodge County, Wisconsin,1, the daughter of Andrew Jr. and Josephine (Ehrike) Oechsner.1
     Marilyn married Carl Clifford Slade, son of Clyde Obie Slade and Mita Krenz, on June 24, 1950 in Mayville, Dodge County, Wisconsin.1 [WF] was widowed when his wife, Carl, died on November 17, 1952 in Korean War at age 21 in the Korean War.2 On Feb 5, 1955, Marilyn married James Schinderle and they had four children.1 Marilyn died on April 4, 2018 at age 89.1 Her obituary read as follows:

      Marilyn Caroline Schinderle, age 89, of Mayville returned to her heavenly home on Wednesday, April 4, at Hospice Home of Hope after fighting a courageous battle with cancer.

Marilyn was born at the family farm on December 30, 1928 to Andrew Jr. and Josephine (Ehrike) Oechsner. Growing up as the oldest girl on the farm, Marilyn learned many life long skills. She learned how to work the land, care for the animals, and run a household. She especially enjoyed working with the horses. She loved to ride her favorite horse, Goldie in Mayville parades.

On June 24, 1950, Marilyn married Carl Slade, a farm boy from Columbus, at St Mary Church in Mayville. Carl was killed in the Korean War on Nov. 17, 1952.

On Feb 5, 1955, Marilyn was united in marriage to James Schinderle. She and Jim had known each other since their childhood days at St. Mary's School. They had four children together. Marilyn lavished her love on her family by making delicious meals and bake goods, knitting and crocheting gifts, and coming to their aid at the drop of a hat! She cherished her nine grandchildren, and her four great grandchildren.

Marilyn is survived by her children; John (Ann Johnson) Baraboo, Jerry (Janice Luehring) Sugarland, TX, Mary Jo Myers (Scott) Mayville, Mary Ann Schmidt (Paul) Burnett. Grandchildren; Carolyn Moncada (Richard), JoAnn Schinderle, Diana Raupp (Ben), Thomas & Nicole Schinderle, Dylan & Austin Myers, Erick & Emily Schmidt. Great grandchildren: Rand, Isaac, Harvey, Conrad. She is also survived by her sisters Connie Pilsner, Therese Weiss (Don), Margaret Oechsner (John), Joan Muenchow (Ralph); and her in-laws Mary Lou Oechsner, Darlene Oechsner, Bob Schinderle (Beth), Bill Schinderle (Jan), and Mike Hartl.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Carl, husband Jim in 2009; her brothers, Francis Oechsner, Jerome (Tuffy) Oechsner, and Andrew III (Butch) Oechsner, her sister Rose Ann Rake; and her in-laws, Mary Ann Oechsner, Harold Rake, Donny Pilsner, and Rosemary Hartl.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday April 10 at 1:00 p.m. at St Mary Church in Mayville with the Rev. Fr. Tom Biersack presiding. Visitation will be held at the church in Mayville prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Burial will take place at St. Mary Cemetery in Mayville.

Special thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Agnesian Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac for their care and support shown to Marilyn and her family during her stay.
