Bertha Jackie (Berry) Slade, 91, a longtime resident of Framingham and Nantucket, died on Thursday November 19, 2015 in Vero Beach, FL. She was the daughter of the late Russell & Gladys (Sanderson) Berry, and was the wife of the late Dr. Edward G. Slade who died in 1992. Jackie was a graduate of Keene State College, Keene, NH. She worked for many years as special needs educator with the Framingham School Department. Jackie was an avid golfer. She is survived by one son, Gerald P. Slade & his wife Tara (Town of Framingham, Committee Member) of Vero Beach, FL and Framingham, a granddaughter, Marlena Slade of Framingham, two sisters, Ruth Dodge of Maine, Elizabeth Manis of Peabody and many nieces and nephews. Jackie was preceded in death by her sister Lenny Haubrick, and her brother Russell Berry. A funeral service was held on Monday morning, December 21, 2015 in the Common Street Community Church (13 Common St.) NATICK at 11 oclock. Relatives and friends were respectfully invited to attend. Interment was in St. Stephen Cemetery, Framingham Donations in Jackies memory can be made to the Christa McAuliffe Charter School, 139 Newbury Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
