     Cecil Elwood Slade married Lucy Verna Pittard in 1920. Cecil died in March, 1976 at age 87.3 He was buried in Maplewood Cemetery, Durham, Durham County, North Carolina.3

     James Bullock Slade was born on September 21, 1926 in Wake County, North Carolina.1,2 He was the son of Cecil Elwood Slade and Lucy Verna Pittard.1 James died on April 13, 2021 in O'Kelly Chapel Christian Church, Williams Township, Chatham Co, NC, at age 94 Ashes scattered on the grave of twin brother who died in 1943.2,3 His obituary read as follows:

      James Bullock Slade, September 21, 1926 - April 13, 2021, Hampstead, North Carolina - James Bullock Slade, age 94, of Hampstead, NC died on Tuesday, April 13, 2021. He was born on September 21, 1926 in Wake, NC to parents Cecil and Lucy Slade.
He was a long-time resident of the O'Kelly Chapel Road Community in Chatham County, NC. He had a special talent in mechanics. He worked on a farm for most of his life. During this time, he would use his special talent in mechanics to restore engines on farm equipment and to restore older tractors to their original condition.
He is survived by his siblings, Lucia S. Noe, Edith Laurie Slade, Cecelia Anne Slade-Weeks, Sue S. Philemon, and his dear friend Bonnie Evansen.
