     William married Elizabeth Fleeman, daughter of Hershel Thomas Fleeman and Cleo Horne.4 William Edward Slade enlisted to serve in World War II on October 31, 1942 in Fort McPherson, Atlanta, Fulton County, Georgia, single, 2 yrs collage, Private, Branch Immaterial, U.S. Army, Enlistment for the duration of the War or other emergency, plus six months, subject to the discretion of the President or otherwise according to law.5 William died on January 6, 2015 at age 94.4 He was buried in Magnolia Park Cemetery, Houston County, Georgia.6
