     Jerry Lynn Slade was born on September 24, 1950 in Darke County, Ohio.2 He was the son of Lawrence Richard Slade and Mildred Maxine Buckingham.1
     Jerry married Linda Marie Butts on July 28, 1973 in Nashville, Ohio,3, the daughter of Robert and Miriam Flatter Butts.3 They had two daughters, Amy (Donald) Ragan, Tipp City, OH and Lisa (Roberta) Slade, Huber Heights, OH.3 Jerry died on April 24, 1997 at age 46.2 He was buried in Maple Hill Cemetery, Tipp City, Miami County, Ohio.2

Linda Marie Butts1

     Linda Marie Butts was born on October 13, 1950 in Tipp City, Miami County, Ohio,2, the daughter of Robert and Miriam Flatter Butts.2
     Linda married Jerry Lynn Slade, son of Lawrence Richard Slade and Mildred Maxine Buckingham, on July 28, 1973 in Nashville, Ohio.2 They had two daughters, Amy (Donald) Ragan, Tipp City, OH and Lisa (Roberta) Slade, Huber Heights, OH.2 Linda died on February 6, 2020 at age 69.2 She was buried in Maple Hill Cemetery, Tipp City, Miami County, Ohio.2 Her obituary read as follows:

      TIPP CITY — Linda Louise Slade, age 69 of Tipp City, OH passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2020 at Hospice of Miami County.

She was born on October 13, 1950 at Stouder Memorial Hospital, Troy, OH to Robert and Miriam Butts.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jerry L. Slade and brothers, Robert Dale Butts and Paul Edward Butts. Linda is survived by her daughters, Amy (Donald) Ragan, Tipp City, OH and Lisa (Roberta) Slade, Huber Heights, OH, and sister in-law, Judy Butts, Tipp City, OH. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren whom she loved and was very proud of; Koyte, Abbie, Logan, Jarod and Emily and special nephew and niece, Jeff Butts and Susan Butts.

Linda graduated from Tippecanoe High School in 1969 and soon after took a positon as a bank teller. She married her husband, Jerry on July 28, 1973. Linda worked in the banking business for 35 years. She enjoyed working with the citizens and businesses of Tipp City and surrounding areas.

She enjoyed being a 4-H advisor for two clubs; Button Buddies and Muttley's for many years. Linda was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Tipp City. She took pleasure in participating in card club, using her electronics, going to garage sales, eating out with friends and family and picking on her two older brothers. Linda loved to smile and laugh.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at 10:30 AM at First Baptist Church, 6533 S. Tipp-Cowlesville Rd. Tipp City, OH; Pastor Reggie Osborne officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Tipp City. Visitation 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at First Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Pink Ribbon Girls, 15 S. Second St., Tipp City, OH 45371.

     Richard Doyle Slade was born on December 29, 1937 in Darke County, Ohio.2 He was the son of Richard Maxwell Slade and Mary Magdalene Spencer.2
     Richard married Sandra Jane Line, daughter of Glenn Line and Helen Aydelotte, on June 1, 1957 in Wayne County, Indiana.1 Richard Doyle Slade was living from 2004 to 2009 in West Manchester, Preble County, Ohio.3 Richard died on April 19, 2018 at age 80.4 His obituary read as follows:

      Richard D. Slade, age 80, of West Manchester, Ohio, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Storypoint Nursing Care Center in Troy, Ohio. He was born December 29, 1937 in Palestine, Ohio to the late Richard M. and Mary (Spencer) Slade.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son Bradley Slade in 1971.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran; a longtime Preble County farmer; volunteer at the Preble County Pork Festival for many years; was a member of the Farm Bureau; and was a member of the Lewisburg United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years Sandra J. "Sandy" Slade of West Manchester; sons: Brent (Anita) Slade of West Manchester, Ohio and Brian (Lisa) Slade of Arcanum, Ohio; daughter Betsy (Greg) Lock of West Manchester, Ohio; grandchildren: Kevin (Stacey) Elliott, Kellie Elliott, Jordan (Amanda) Slade, Mycaela Slade, Brooklynn (Trent) Tomlin, Allyson Lock, Shelby Slade, Emma Slade and Bradyn Lock; great-grandchildren: Kiara Elliott, Jayden Elliott, Jason Sneed, Jr., Kyle Elliott, Jazlynn Horton, Kaelyn Slade and Lynae Slade; sisters Delores Unthank and Barbara (Jerry) Bixler; aunt Helen Spencer; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 23 from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 12 p.m. at the Lewisburg United Methodist Church, 3147 U.S. Route 40 East Lewisburg, Ohio 45338 with Pastor Don Trumbull officiating. Burial will follow at Castine Cemetery in Castine, Ohio.
