"Copper" was born September 28, 1936, in Santa Fe, NM To Jerry Jewell and Bill Fones, Sr. She later married Albert B.Amiday, Jr. in Santa Fe. She was the mostloving and wonderful mother; and artist and interior decorator. She was involved ingathering food donations and making flowerarrangements for hospice patients. She is survived by her fiance and companion of 12 years, Sandy Burtrum; herloving children: Desira Amiday, Dean Slade and wife Patricia, Erick Slade and wife Jackie, and Dirk Slade; and her grandchildren: Katy Slade, Amber Slade,Jason Slade, Christopher Slade, Tomas Slade, and Jeffrey Slade; her brother, Bill Fones; and father, Bill Fones, Sr.
Visitation will begin on Wednesday,November 17, at 6:00 p.m. at Berardinelli Family Funeral Chapel where a rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, November 18, at 9:30 a.m. at Santa Maria de la Paz Catholic Community. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Desira Amiday, Dean E. Slade, Erick D. Slade, Dirk Slade, Bill Fones, and Raymond D. Romero. There will be a gathering of friends immediately following, at the Amiday residence.
