Mary Eva Slade1

(17 May 1924 - 11 February 1997)
     Mary Eva Slade was born on May 17, 1924 in Moorpark, Ventura County, California.2 She was the daughter of Edward Ross Slade and Sarah Katherine Parrish.1 Mary Eva Slade married William Clark Tanner, son of Ira Gilpin Tanner and Lucy Botkin, on July 18, 1942 in Fort Lauderdale, Broward County, Florida; They were the parents of four children: Richard Ross Tanner, Kathryn Lucinda Tanner, Mary Amanda Tanner and William Bruce Tanner.3 William was a Major in the United States Air Force and was killed when his jet airplane crashed near Des Moine, Iowa.4 Note: After her husband's death, Mary apparently married a second time to a Mr. Rowland, as her obituary gave that as her surname at time of her death.5 Mary died on February 11, 1997 in McLean, Fairfax County, Virginia, at age 72.6,5
