     Carleton married Veronica Elizabeth Young on November 24, 1938 in Springfield, Vermont.2 She was the daughter of Edith Bell & Henry Young.3 Carleton died on January 19, 1985 in Hartford, Windsor County, Vermont, at age 67.4 He was buried in Mountain View Cemetery, Claremont, Sullivan County, New Hampshire.5 His obituary read as follows:

      Carleton Francis Slade died in Hartford, VT on January 19, 1985. He was born on September 10, 1917 in Springfield, VT; the son of Frank and Lottie (Shea) Slade.

He married Veronica Young on November 24, 1938 in Springfield, VT but they later divorced.

He is survived by sons Gary, Richard, and Paul Slade

Burial is in Mtn View Cemetery in Claremont, NH.

     Hannah C. Hayes was born in February, 1849 in Waterbury, Vermont.2,3 She was the daughter of Thomas Hayes and Mary McDonnell.4
     Hannah married Ora Slade Jr., son of Ora Slade and Lucia Dean.1 Hannah's daughter Cora Vital died in Jan 1900, so she cared for the three grandchildren.5 Hannah died on October 24, 1925 at age 76.6 She was buried in Woodlands Cemetery, Cambridge, Washington County, New York.4 Her obituary read as follows:

      Mrs. Hannah C. Slade, a resident of Cambridge for about 35 years, died Saturday night after a year's illness. Mrs. Slade was born at Waterbury, Vt., in 1849, and was the widow of Ora Slade. The survivors are a daughter, Mrs. William B. Whitney of Bainbridge; a brother, John Hayes of Manchester, Vt; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Phelps of Pawlet, Vt., and Mrs. Sara M. Randall of Cambridge; seven grandchildren, Clinton H. Vetal of this city, Millard Vetal of Cambridge, Mrs. Leonard Bacon of Chelsea, Vt., Alson Clark of Charleston, N.H., Gordon Clark of Bainbridge and Harold and Helen Slade of Springfield, Vt; and three great grandchildren. The funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the residence of Millard Vetal, at Cambridge. Rev. H.A. Ferguson officiating. Interment will be in Woodlands Cemetery. From The Troy Times, Troy, New York, Monday Evening, October 26, 1925.6
