George Foster Harley

     George Foster Harley was born on January 6, 1875 in Sparta, Hancock County, Georgia.1
     George married Roberta Slade, daughter of William Bonner Slade and Mary Byrnes Brown, on April 16, 1917 in Columbus, Muscogee, Georgia.2,3 George Foster Harley served in Private Aviation section signal corps US Army, Dec. 1918 - Enlisted at St. Louis, MO. and reported at Camp Dick, Dallas, TX. Thence to Ithaca, NY with status of Aviation Cadet at the US Army School of Military Aeronautics, Preparatory in candiacy for commission as a flying officer in the US Air Corps. World War I - honorably discharged at Camp Dick, Dallas, TX, Dec. 1918 in 1918.3 George died on June 20, 1957 in Kerrville, Kerr County, Texas, at age 82.1 He was buried in Linwood Historic Cemetery, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia.1

     Thirza married Thomas Bog Slade, son of James Jeremiah Slade and Leila Birchett Bonner, on October 14, 1903 in Rose Hill Baptist Church, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia.3 Thirza died on October 12, 1908 at age 322 and was buried in Linwood Historic Cemetery, Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia.4
