     Virginia Lucille Neel was born on February 6, 1915 in Tazewell County, Virginia.2 She was the daughter of Earley Pierce Neel and Lillian Kate Atkins.4
     Virginia married John Henry Slade, son of William Prior Slade and Margaret Nyes Bell Carbaugh.1 Virginia died on November 25, 1976 at age 612 and was buried in Maple Hill Cemetery, Bluefield, Tazewell County, Virginia.2

James Earl Slade Jr.1

     James Earl Slade Jr. was known as Earl.1 He was born on September 14, 1932 in Boulder, Jefferson County, Montana.1 He was the son of James Earl Slade and Marguerite J. Steele.1
     James married Joyce E. Walch on June 22, 1987 in Anoka, Minnesota.2 James died on October 21, 2012 in Cambridge, Isanti County, Minnesota, at age 80.1 He was buried in Oak Knoll Cemetery, Princeton, Mille Lacs, Minnesota.1 His obituary read as follows:

      James Earl Slade, Jr, known as Earl, age 80, Cambridge, MN, died Sunday, October 21, 2012 at GracePointe Crossing in Cambridge.

Earl was born on September 14, 1932 in Boulder, Montana, son of James Earl and Marguerite J. (Steele) Slade. He grew up and was educated at Boulder and entered the US Air Force on July 16, 1951 and was honorably discharged on March 9, 1953. Following his discharge, he lived in Los Osos, California, where he worked for the Department of Corrections as a Corrections Officer and later moved to Morrow Bay, California. While working for the Department of Corrections a flu epidemic took out many of the guards and Earl worked 16 hour shifts for 16 days in a row, with the extra money from overtime he bought his two children and two step-children ten-speed bikes for Christmas that year. He later moved to Hammond, Louisiana, where he worked as a security guard at the Sears store. He was united in marriage with Joyce E. Walch on June 22, 1987 at Anoka, MN, they continued to live in Hammond, LA, until just before Hurricane Katrina hit in 2005, when they returned to Minnesota and lived in Milaca. In January of 2012, they moved to the Mill Ridge Apartments in Cambridge.

Earl was known for his love of woodworking, making many clock out of redwood, and end tables and coffee tables out of buckeye. He collected old badges and old swords. He and his son, Jim, used to ride motorcycles together and later Earl owned a stock car, which Jim drove, winning the track championship one year. They later moved to sprint cars. He also enjoyed fishing and gardening with his wife, Joyce.

He is survived by his wife: Joyce of Cambridge; children: James Earl Slade III (Donna) of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Debra Walch (Brad Boos) of Duluth, MN, Rick (Teresa) Walch of Otsego, MN, Tammy (Eric) Turnquist of Andover, MN and Wanda (Pat) Miskavige of Isanti, MN; eighteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren; two sisters: Charleen Gordon of Kingman, Arizona and Genevieve Guevara of Reno, Nevada. He was preceded in death by his parents: James Earl and Marguerite Slade; daughter: Cindy Slade; and a grandchild: BJ Polk.

Visitation: 10-11 AM, Saturday, October 27th at the funeral home.

Funeral: 11 AM, Saturday, October 27th at the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Princeton, MN.

Burial: Oak Knoll Cemetery, Princeton, MN.1

     Phebe married Arno F. Hahn, son of Edward Hahn and Bertha Holtz, on July 6, 1908 in Livingston, Park County, Montana.3 Phebe died on June 20, 1939.2 She was buried in Boulder Cemetery, Jefferson County, Montana.5

     Arno F. Hahn was born on April 23, 1878 in Saxony, Germany.2,3 He was the son of Edward Hahn and Bertha Holtz.3
     Arno married Phebe Jane Colvin, daughter of George W Colvin and Burnetta Vandeveer, on July 6, 1908 in Livingston, Park County, Montana.3 Arno F. Hahn was registered for the military draft in World War I on September 12, 1918 in Boulder, Jefferson County, Montana.2 Arno died on May 21, 1947 in Butte, Silver Bow County, Montana, at age 694 and was buried in Boulder Cemetery, Jefferson County, Montana.4
