     Robert Henry Slade was born on November 5, 1916 in Keene, Cheshire County, New Hampshire.2 He was the son of William Allen Slade and Lillian May Clark.1 Robert Henry Slade enlisted to serve in World War II on October 7, 1941 in Camp Blanding, Bradford County, Florida.3
     Robert married Dorothy Gloria Tinsley, daughter of Joseph David Tinsley Jr. and Juanita Marion Hanson, on December 24, 1941 in Springfield, Clark County, Ohio.2 Robert was stationed at Fort Knox, Kentucky at the time of their marriage. He became a Staff Sergeant, 81st Cavalry Reconn Squad, 1st Armored Division and was later killed during WWII action in Italy. He was awarded the Purple Heart.2,4 Robert died on April 22, 1945 at age 28.5 He was buried in Florence American Cemetery & Memorial, Florence, Provincia di Firenze, Toscana, Italy.4

     Judith married William T. Slade.1 Judith died on October 3, 2018 in Ann Arbor, Washtenaw County, Michigan, at age 80.1 Her obituary read as follows:

      Judith Ann "Judy" Slade, age 80, died suddenly of a Stroke on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Ann Arbor, MI. Beloved wife to her husband of 60 yrs. William T. Slade. Dearest mother of Melissa Wilkins and Rebecca (Patrick) Cheuvront. Loving grandmother of Hannah (Charles) Munoz, Hayden Wilkins, Grace Cheuvront, Hope Cheuvront and Lillie Cheuvront. Loving great-grandmother of Melania. Dearest sister if Jeanne (James D. 2018) Stillman, four nieces and nephews, four great nieces and nephews, and many dear friends. Judy was born in Lincoln, Illinois August 11,1938 to the late Spencer Littleton and Betty Galford. She graduated from Lincoln H.S. in 1956, and attended Millikin Univ. Decatur, IL. From and early age, Judy had a love for the Lord and music. She performed with a number of groups over the years, including the Ann Arbor Cantata Singers, and was a life long church choir member. Her lovely voice graced many a wedding and funeral over the years. A nurturing and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Judy's life was characterized by service to others. A life long Bible Student, Bible Teacher, Prayer Warrior, Children's Choir Director, Brownie Leader, Church Deacon and Elder to name just a few. She was also active in her Sorority, Delta Delta Delta, PEO a philanthropic organization supporting women in education, and a number of other charitable outreaches. She traveled extensively and was involved in her community at Glacier Hills where she lived. Judy was Miss Decatur,IL of 1956, but lost her bid to become Miss Illinois in the Miss America Pageant. Judy's faith, love for the Lord, love for people and her caring heart will be sorely missed. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 10:00AM, at First Presbyterian Church of Ann Arbor.
