     Ralph married Patricia A. Blakeman, daughter of Harold Blakeman and Stella Kronkowski, in 1972.6 Ralph died on December 19, 2013 in Montpelier, Williams County, Ohio, at age 85.3 He was buried in Oak Grove Cemetery, Hillsdale, Hillsdale County, Michigan.2 His obituary read as follows:

      Ralph S. Slade, Sr, age 85, of Osseo passed away Thursday, December 19, 2013 at the Community Hospital & Wellness Center in Montpelier, Ohio. He was born May 23, 1928 in Toledo to Harold and Hazel (Slusser) Slade. He married Patricia Blakeman on May 5, 1972.Ralph attended Hillsdale Community Schools. He served his county in the U.S. Navy during WWII where he was stationed in Guam. Ralph was a member of the Hillsdale American Legion and the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed canoeing, dune buggying, spending time with his grandchildren and spoiling his dog, Allie.Surviving besides his wife, Patricia, are four daughters, Shelly Caldwell, Jill Slade, Judy Double and Louise Slade-Wirick; four sons, Ralph (Cherie) Slade, Jr, John Slade, Mike (Linda) Riker and Steve (Debbie) Riker; sixteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; two brothers and three sisters.He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two grandchildren. A memorial visitation for Ralph Slade will take place Sunday, December 22, 2013 from 2-4 P.M. at the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale. Immediately following the visitation, there will be a memorial luncheon at the Hillsdale American Legion.Memorial contributions are suggested to the Hillsdale American Legion.3

     Hazel married Robert Joseph Bieskie on January 30, 1944 in Sturgis, St. Joseph County, Michigan.3 Hazel was widowed when her husband, Robert, died on May 30, 2010 at age 85.4 Hazel died on January 13, 2015 at age 89.1 She was buried in Albion Memory Gardens, Albion, Calhoun County, Michigan.1 BIESKIE, Hazel Laura Spring Arbor Age 89 of Spring Arbor went to be with the Lord January 13, 2015. Surviving are one daughter, Carol Bray, one son David Bieskie, six grandchildren; Bryan Kay, Kristin Kramer, Derek Bray, Kevin Bray, David Bray, Nicole Bieskie and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband of 66 years Robert Bieskie, daughter Patricia Kay and two brothers Ralph Slade and Bud Slade. She received a Bachelor's Degree in Education from Spring Arbor College after raising her three children. Hazel and husband Robert attended Spring Arbor College together. A celebration of her life will be held Monday, January 19, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at Spring Arbor Free Methodist Church in the chapel; Reverend Ward Sipes officiating; interment Albion Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions for those who wish may be made to The Southeastern Guide Dog School, 4210 77th Street East, Palmetto, Florida 34221. The family will receive friends Sunday at the Watson Funeral Chapel in Jackson from 1:00 5:00 P.M. & Monday at the church from 1:00 P.M. until the time of service. -.1

     William married third Susan "Susie" Harris, daughter of Henry Harrison Harris and Adelaide Kellogg, on April 4, 1911 in Battle Creek, Calhoun County, Michigan.7 William Edward Slade and Susan were divorced on October 6, 1917 in Sturgis, St. Joseph County, Michigan; [apparently, this is a divorce, although it is listed in the marriage book.].8 Susie is shown in 1920 census as divorced, but was remarried later that year to Edward J. Ellsworth.] William died on September 13, 1921 at age 6510 and was buried in Mount Rest Cemetery, St. Johns, Clinton County, Michigan.10

Laura Adelle Brooks1

(November 1865 - 20 May 1926)
     Laura Adelle Brooks was born in November, 1865 in Buffalo, Erie County, New York.2,3 She was the daughter of Alonzo Brooks and Laura Noble.
     Laura married William Edward Slade, son of John Edward Slade and Susan Ada Lyman, on January 8, 1887 in Corunna, Shiawassee County, Michigan.2,1 Laura was living in Caledonia at the time of her marriage.1 Laura died on May 20, 1926 at age 60.4 She was buried in Highland Cemetery, South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana.4

Patricia A. Blakeman1

(2 June 1942 - 30 March 2014)
     Patricia A. Blakeman was born on June 2, 1942 in Cambria Twp, Michigan.1 She was the daughter of Harold Blakeman and Stella Kronkowski.1
     Patricia married Ralph Slusser Slade, son of Harold Keith Slade, in 1972.1 Patricia died on March 30, 2014 at age 71.1 Her obituary read as follows:

      Patricia A. Slade, 71, of Hillsdale, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2014, at the Hillsdale Community Health Center.

She was born June 2, 1942 in Cambria Twp., Michigan to Harold & Stella (Kronkowski) Blakeman. She was married to Ralph S. Slade Sr. and he preceded her in death in 2013.

Patricia enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and spending time at her up north property and cooking.

Patricia is survived by eight children, Shelly Caldwell of Osseo, Jill Slade of Hillsdale, Judy Double of Portage, Louise Slade-Wirick of Fort Worth, Tx., Michael (Linda) Riker of Reading, Steven (Debra) Riker of Sacramento, California, Ralph (Cherie) Slade Jr. of Hillsdale and John Slade of Mosherville; 16 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; and a sister, Louise (William) Hamblin of Michigan Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 grandchildren and her husband Ralph.

Funeral services for Patricia Slade will be Thursday, April 3, 2014, at 2:00 p.m., at the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale with Pastor Mark Elliott officiating. Interment will take place at a later date. The family will receive friends for visitation Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m., at the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale.
