     Richard James "Dick" Slade was born on August 29, 1931 in Ohio.1,2 He was the son of Harold Keith Slade and Hazel Lenore Slusser.1
     Richard married Geneva Guise.2
     Richard married second Roberta [?].2 Richard died on March 2, 2021 at age 89.2 His obituary read as follows:

      Slade, Richard 8/29/1931 - 3/2/2021 Jackson Richard "Dick" Slade, age 89, of Clark Lake, went peacefully to be with the Lord on March 2, 2021. He was born on August 29, 1931 to parents Harold and Hazel Slade. He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Harold "Bud" Slade, Hazel Bieskie, and Ralph Slade Sr. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Roberta; also survived by his first wife for 36 years, Geneva (Guise) Slade; children, Jim (Lois) Slade, Vonda Slade, Jerry (Lisa) Slade, Laurie (Bill) Warner all of Hillsdale, and Eric (Kari) Slade of Fostoria, Ohio; step-children, Charles Miller of Columbus, Ohio, Jeff Miller of Wabash, Indiana, Crystal (Randy) Elliott of Hillsdale; siblings, Mary Sue Anke of Arizona, Bill (Terri) Slade of Lake Odessa, and Yvonne VanWormer of Wauseon, Ohio; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and 1 great-great-grandchild. Dick proudly served his country in the United States Army for 3 years during the Korean War, from 1951-1954. After his honorable discharge from the Army he started working at Guise Plumbing and Heating. He then went on to open his own plumbing and heating company in 1970, operating in Jackson and Hillsdale until his retirement in 2018. Race cars were a major passion of his that he spread throughout his family. Together with his family he would build and tune the cars and then race them at numerous tracks around Michigan and Ohio, including the old Jackson Speedway. He was inducted into the Michigan MotorSports Hall of Fame in 2001. Other hobbies of his included hunting, bowling, and golfing, notably recording 2 hole in ones. According to his wishes, Dick has been cremated and celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home and Hillsdale Humane Society would be greatly appreciated by the family. Ilene Alfleeda Gilbert1

     Ilene Alfleeda Gilbert was born on March 3, 1928 in Jackson, Jackson County, Michigan.2 She was the daughter of Earnest G. Gilbert and Zella Gleason.2
     Ilene married Ralph Slusser Slade, son of Harold Keith Slade, on September 2, 1957.2 Ilene died on November 7, 2013 at age 85.2 She was buried in Waldron Cemetery, Waldron, Hillsdale County, Michigan.3 Her obituary read as follows:

      Ilene A. Slade, 85, of Hillsdale and formerly of Waldron, passed away Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013 at the Hillsdale County Medical Care Facility. She was born March 3, 1928 in Jackson, the daughter of Ernest G. and Zella (Gleason) Gilbert. Ilene married Ralph Slade Sr. on Sept. 2, 1957.

Ilene was a graduate of Waldron High School, Class of 1946. She later went on to attend the Cleary Business School in Ypsilanti. Ilene enjoyed drawing, knitting and playing the piano. She was a long-time member of the Waldron Wesleyan Church.

Surviving besides her former husband, Ralph, are two daughters, Judy Double of Portage and Jill Slade of Hillsdale: a son, John Slade of Jonesville; and four grandchildren, Christopher Double, Nicholas Cozart, Jennifer Sheffer and Andrea Frankini.

Ilene was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Roger and Everett Gilbert; and two sisters, Bernice Emens and Isabel Fellows.

Funeral services for Ilene Slade will be Monday, Nov. 11, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale, with Steve Wismar officiating. Interment will follow at Waldron Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation Sunday from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Hillsdale County Medical Care Facility.2

     Susan "Susie" Harris was born on June 13, 1879 in St. Johns, Clinton County, Michigan.2 She was the daughter of Henry Harrison Harris and Adelaide Kellogg.1,3
     Susan married first Albert F. Fisher, son of Lewis Fisher and Sarah Rule, on July 23, 1896 in St. Johns, Michigan.4
     Susan married second William Edward Slade, son of John Edward Slade and Susan Ada Lyman, on April 4, 1911 in Battle Creek, Calhoun County, Michigan.1 Susan "Susie" Harris and William were divorced on October 6, 1917 in Sturgis, St. Joseph County, Michigan; [apparently, this is a divorce, although it is listed in the marriage book.].3
     Susan married third Edward J. Ellsworth, son of William H. Ellsworth and Viola Spratt, on January 24, 1920 in St. Johns, Michigan.5 Susan died on August 9, 1942 at age 63.6 She was buried in Mount Rest Cemetery, St. Johns, Clinton County, Michigan.7
