     Raymond Joseph Slade was born on September 19, 1953 in Eastland, Eastland County, Texas.¹ He was the son of Pitts Joseph Slade Jr. and Martha Janece Reed.¹ Raymond died on September 25, 2019 at age 66.¹ He was buried in Murray Cemetery, Carbon, Eastland County, Texas.¹ His obituary read as follows:

      Raymond Slade, 66 of Breckenridge, passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2019. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, September 28th at Gunsight Baptist Church with Rev. Rex Boggs officiating. Interment will follow in the Murray Cemetery under the direction of Morehart Mortuary.

Raymond Joseph Slade was born September 19, 1953 in Eastland, Texas to parents, Pitts Joseph Slade, Jr. & Martha Juanice "Necie" Reed Slade. Raymond grew up in Breckenridge, where he played Little League Baseball and later attended Breckenridge High School. His earlier employment included working on roustabout crews on drilling rigs in Casper, Wyoming and then later as a groundskeeper for the Breckenridge Country Club. At the time of his passing, Raymond worked for Walker-Sayle Unit as a chemical dependency counselor. He was a member of Gunsight Baptist Church and the Breckenridge Masonic Lodge. Raymond enjoyed fishing, flying kites, playing golf, and listening to old time country and western music. His most recent hobby was learning how to play the guitar in a self teach program. He was also an avid lover of the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys and especially enjoyed attending games in Arlington with his brother, Gary. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Raymond is survived by his brother, Gary Slade of Arlington, and many cousins in Texas and Mississippi.

     Jacob Slade was born in 1857 in England.³ He was baptized on June 28, 1857 in Purton with Braydon, Wiltshire, England.³ He was the son of Nevil Slade and Susan Hacker.^4,5
     Jacob married Mary [?] in 1886.² Jacob died on July 16, 1925 in Manhattan, New York, at age 68.⁶

     William Joseph Slade was born on December 27, 1887 in New York City, New York.^3,1 He was the son of Jacob Slade and Mary [?].¹
     William married Bertha Agnes Miller on February 14, 1911 in Manhattan, New York County, New York.² William died on July 19, 1954 at age 66.⁴ He was buried in Cemetery of the Holy Road, Westbury, Nassau County, New York.⁴

     Bertha married William Joseph Slade, son of Jacob Slade and Mary [?], on February 14, 1911 in Manhattan, New York County, New York.² Bertha died on August 14, 1976.³ She was buried in Cemetery of the Holy Road, Westbury, Nassau County, New York.³

     Dorothy F. Slade was born on August 28, 1911 in Manhattan, New York County, New York.^1,2 She was the daughter of William Joseph Slade and Bertha Agnes Miller.^3,2

     William Joseph Slade Jr. was born on March 17, 1913 in Manhattan, New York County, New York.^1,2,3 He was the son of William Joseph Slade and Bertha Agnes Miller.¹
     William married Deanna Gingrich on September 17, 1955 in Haddonfield, Camden County, New Jersey, at Christ the King Church⁴, the daughter of Robert W. Gingrich and Helen Franzen.⁴ William died on October 14, 1990 at age 77.³ He was buried in Cemetery of the Holy Road, Westbury, Nassau County, New York.⁵

     Deanna married William Joseph Slade Jr., son of William Joseph Slade and Bertha Agnes Miller, on September 17, 1955 in Haddonfield, Camden County, New Jersey, at Christ the King Church.¹ Deanna was widowed when her husband, William, died on October 14, 1990 at age 77.³ Deanna died on September 4, 2013 in Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania, at age 75.² She was buried in Colestown Cemetery, Camden County, New Jersey.⁴

     Nevil Slade was born on June 27, 1819 in Purton with Braydon, Wiltshire, England.¹
     Nevil married Susan Hacker on September 3, 1856 in Purton with Braydon, Wiltshire,², the daughter of Mary & Jacob Hacker.^2,3

     Susan Hacker was baptized on January 29, 1832 in Purton with Braydon, Wiltshire, England; Parton Parish Church^2,3,1, the daughter of Mary & Jacob Hacker.^2,1
     Susan married Nevil Slade on September 3, 1856 in Purton with Braydon, Wiltshire.¹

     Allen Jack Slade was born on November 13, 1913 in Newtown, New South Wales, Australia.¹ He was the son of Arthur Slade and Emily Harvey Maish.¹
