     Stanley Slade was born on September 13, 1901 in Salmon Cove, Newfoundland.¹ He was the son of Phillip Slade and Patience Swain.¹ Stanley Slade was baptized on January 2, 1902 in Salmon Cove, Newfoundland.¹
     Stanley married Ethel M. Butt circa 1925 in Salmon Cove, Newfoundland.² Stanley died in February, 1979 at age 77³ and was buried in Riverside United Church Cemetery, Salmon Cove, Newfoundland.³

CARBONEAR NEWS - CARBONEAR MAN MARRIED IN ST. JOHN, N.B.
The following are excerpts taken from a St. John's, N.B., daily at recent date:
A wedding of wide interest was solemnized in St. Luke's Church, when Rev. Gordon W. Philpotts, with the double ring ceremony, united in marriage Audrey Annett, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Foster, of St. John, and Arthur J. son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Slade, of Carbonear, Newfoundland. The church was decorated for the occasion. Mr. Harold Ellis was the organist and accompanied the senior choir in the singing of the hymns. Alfred Jones was the soloist.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, was attired in a Princess line gown fashioned of white tafetta (sic) with satin beaded applique design, with cathedral train. The double-tiered veil of illusion was held in place by a pearl trimmed tiara. She carried a bouquet of white carnations and stephanotis. Her only ornament was a single strand of pearls, a gift of the groom.
The bride's sisters were her attendants. The matron of honour was Mrs. H. E. Fawcett, Jr., and the other attendants Mrs. A. L. Richardson, Miss Nancy Elliott and little Miss Tanya Foster. The best man was Harold Crawford, cousin of the groom, and ushers were H. E. Fawcett and William R. J. Foster.
Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Y.W.C.A. Wellington Row. About 100 guests were present. A toast to the bride was proposed by Rev. G. W. Philpotts, and the groom responded and in turn proposed a toast to the attendants, and Harold Crawford responded. Friends of the bride served, the pourers were Miss S. V. Brown, aunt of the bride, and Mrs. H. Crawford, a cousin of the groom.
Later the couple left by plane for a trip to P.E.I. and upon their return they will reside in Toronto.
Out of town guests were Mrs. Stanley Slade, Carbonear, Nfld., Rev. and Mrs. William Reynolds, River Hebert, N.S., Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Gillespie, Charlottetown, P.E.I., Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Friars, Sussex, Mrs. Amesa White and Mrs. Robert Wade, King's County.
The bride was honoured with many showers prior to her marriage and was the recipient of many gifts. The bride was employed with Marcus, Ltd., and the groom is employed with the Air Radio Transport Department.
We extend to Mr. and Mrs. Slade best wishes for a happy wedded life.^2,55 Arthur Josiah Slade was a radio technician with Air Radio Transport Department.⁵ He resided in Brampton, Peel, Ontario, Canada, in 1962.⁶ A technician.⁶ He resided in Brampton, Peel, Ontario, Can, in 1974.⁷ Arthur died on August 16, 2000 in Mississuaga, ONT, CAN.^2,8

     Thomas Slade was born on October 1, 1882 in Salmon Cove, Newfoundland.¹ He was the son of John Slade and Selina Page.¹ Thomas Slade was baptized on October 8, 1882.¹ He resided in Salmon Cove, Newfoundland, in 1898; a fisherman.² He resided in Salmon Cove, Newfoundland, in 1901; a Methodist.³
     Thomas married Johanna Butt on April 21, 1903 in Freshwater, Newfoundland.⁴ Thomas died on May 4, 1968 at age 85⁵ and was buried in Riverside United Church Cemetery, Salmon Cove, Newfoundland.⁵

     Johanna Butt was born on May 5, 1883 in Salmon Cove, Newfoundland.^1,2 She was a Methodist.³
     Johanna married Thomas Slade, son of John Slade and Selina Page, on April 21, 1903 in Freshwater, Newfoundland.⁴ Johanna died in September, 1970 in Salmon Cove, Newfoundland, at age 87 She was living with son, Herbert, at time of her death, her son, John was in St. John's.^5,6,2 and was buried in Riverside United Church Cemetery, Salmon Cove, Newfoundland.²

     Herbert Chesly Slade was born on November 11, 1919 in Salmon Cove, Newfoundland.^1,3 He was the son of Thomas Slade and Johanna Butt.¹
     Herbert married Meta Beryl Rideout⁴, the daughter of Harriette Annie Burton & George Rideout. Herbert died on February 14, 2010 in Carbonear, Newfoundland, at age 90.^2,3 He was buried in Riverside United Church Cemetery, Salmon Cove, Newfoundland, Canada.³ His obituary read as follows:
