Louise M. Gleason1

     Louise M. Gleason was born on March 12, 1933 in Putney, Windham County, Vermont.2 She was the daughter of Clarence Gleason and Bertha Dunham.2
     Louise married Lyle Burton Slade, son of Leo Ora Slade and Harriet Belle French, on July 30, 1959 in Wardsboro, Windham County, Vermont.1 Louise died on December 2, 2005 at age 72.2 Her obituary read as follows:

      WINDSOR - Louise M. Slade, 72, died Dec. 2, 2005, at Mount Ascutney Hospital in Windsor.

She was born March 12, 1933, in Putney, the daughter of Clarence and Bertha (Dunham) Gleason.

She attended school in Putney.

She married Lyle B. Slade on July 30, 1959, in Wardsboro. He predeceased her in 2000.

Mrs. Slade was employed at Stratton Mountain Ski Area in Bondville for many years, and later at the Idlenot Restaurant in Londonderry. She was most recently employed at the Equinox Hotel for nine years until her retirement in 1995.

She was a driver for Volunteers in Action in Windsor and a member of a walking club at Olde Windsor Village in Windsor. She was also a member of First Baptist Church in South Londonderry.

She enjoyed dancing, reading, bowling and singing in church choirs.

Survivors include a daughter, Terry Cameron of Springfield; a stepson, Edward Slade of Gardner, Mass., and a stepdaughter, Marion Mitchell of Vernon; a sister, Margaret Harlow of Putney; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, at the Knight Funeral Home in Windsor with the Rev. Margo Marone officiating.

Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m., prior to the service, Friday at the funeral home.

     Marilyn Lavon Henderson was born on December 26, 1938 in Wabaunsee County, Kansas.1 She was the daughter of Chester Henderson and Melva Price.1
     Marilyn married William D. Slade, son of Robert William Slade and Gladys A. [?], on May 29, 1957 in Lyon County, Kansas.1 Marilyn died on March 18, 2015 at age 76.1 She was buried in Wilmington Cemetery, Harveyville, Wabaunsee County, Kansas.2 Her obituary read as follows:

      Marilyn Lavon Henderson-Slade, 76, Harveyville, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at her home after a protracted battle with cancer. Marilyn was born December 26, 1938, near Harveyville, the daughter of Chester and Melva Price Henderson. She attended Harveyville Schools graduating with the class of 1956. Shortly after, she married Bill Slade in rural Lyon County, on May 29, 1957. They settled down in the small town of Harveyville where she worked at the First National Bank of Harveyville for over 20 years. There the couple raised their two children, Richard and Dena. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Betty Barnett, and a son, Richard Slade, who died February 29, 2012. She is survived by her husband Bill Slade of the home; a daughter Dena (Jim) Strohm, Burlingame, KS; daughter-in-law Diane Slade, Topeka, KS; three brothers, Bob (Janis) Henderson, Topeka, KS, Don Henderson, Overland Park, KS, and Jim (Linda) Henderson, Hutchinson, KS; and a sister -in-law, Wanda (Dave) Boyle, Halstead, KS; five grandchildren, Brent (Nichole) Slade, Harveyville, KS, Matt (Merissa) Slade, Allen, KS, Trey, Caleb and Breanna Strohm, Burlingame, KS; four great-grandchildren, Emma and Carson Slade, Harveyville and Wyatt and Hayden Slade, Allen, KS. Marilyn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. When diagnosed with lung cancer in 2012, she remained dedicated to her family and her will to fight her illness. She remained a brave, iron-willed woman, even throughout her final months. Marilyn was cremated. The family will receive friends and relatives from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 27, 2015, at Carey Funeral Home, Burlingame, Kansas. A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 28, 2015, at the Harveyville United Methodist Church. Inurnment will follow in the Wilmington Cemetery, south of Harveyville.      Richard Slade was born on September 17, 1958 in Wabaunsee County, Kansas.2 He was the son of William D. Slade and Marilyn Lavon Henderson.1
     Richard married Diane Tucker on June 23, 1978 in Burlingame, Osage County, Kansas.2 Richard died on February 29, 2012 at age 53.1 His obituary read as follows:

      Richard D. Rick Slade, 53, Harveyville, Kansas, passed away on Wednesday, February 29, 2012, at Stormont-Vail Hospital as a result of injuries sustained during the Harveyville Tornado. Rick was born to Bill and Marilyn Slade on September 17, 1958 in Emporia, KS at St. Mary's Hospital. He graduated from Mission Valley High School in 1976. Rick married Diane Tucker, June 23, 1978 in Burlingame, KS. Rick was a lifelong resident of Harveyville. He was a dedicated employee of the Kansas Turnpike Authority for over 30 years. He enjoyed spending weekends with his tractor pulling family. Rick is survived by his parents, Bill and Marilyn Slade, Harveyville, KS; his wife, Diane Slade, Harveyville, KS; one sister, Dena (Jim) Strohm, Burlingame, KS; two sons, Brent (Nichole) Slade, Harveyville, KS; Matthew (Merissa) Slade, of Allen, KS; and four grandchildren, Emma, Wyatt, Carson and Hayden, who were his pride and joy. A memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at Mission Valley High School. Rick was cremated. Private family inurnment will be at a later date. Out of his love and dedication to his grandchildren an Educational Memorial Fund has been set up. Contributions may be Made to the Rick Slade Memorial and sent in care of Carey Funeral Home, P.O.
