     Wava married Cliff Taylor Slade, son of Frank Ezekiel Slade and Lula Jane Steen.1 Wava died on August 1, 2015 at age 90.1 She was buried in Brandon Memorial Gardens, Brandon, Rankin County, Mississippi.2 Her obituary read as follows:

      Wava Young Slade, 90, a resident of Brandon, died Saturday, August 1, 2015 at the Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Funeral services will be held 2 pm Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon with interment in the Brandon Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 12-2 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Brandon.

Mrs. Slade was a longtime resident of Rankin County. She was the daughter of Thomas J. and Lillian Gertrude Young. She was married to Cliff Taylor Slade. Mrs. Slade worked some outside the home but mostly enjoyed being a homemaker for her family who she loved very much. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.

Mrs. Slade was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas J. and Lillian Gertrude Young; her husband, Cliff Taylor Slade and her siblings, Mary Bell Hall, Sara Conway, Betty Terry, Paul Young, J.T. Young and Jack Young.

Mrs. Slade is survived by her children, Tommie (Clark) Colvin, Wanda (Carl) Karges and Lena (Martin) White; brother, Roy (Rose) Young; sister, Winnie Foye Rowan; seven grandchildren, Lea Merkl, Dylan Karges, T.J. Colvin, Lori Sanders, Dustin White, Sarah White and Mollie White; 4 great grandchildren, Lily Sanders, Vivian Karges, Claiborne Karges and Cecelia Herbert; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

     Joseph married Alma DiVenuti in 19511,2, the daughter of Biagio and Berenice Marks DiVenuti.2 Joseph died on September 11, 2015 in Milford, Connecticut.1 His obituary read as follows:

      Joseph A. Slade, 86, of Milford, CT, died peacefully Friday, September 11, 2015. He was born in Allentown, PA, the son of Joseph E. and Dorothy Slade. He is survived by his wife Rose Goldstein, his two daughters Carol of Maine and Veronica and her wife Lisa Schultz of New Mexico. He is also survived by his brother William, his wife Winnie, their children Stacey, William, Jr., and Susan; along with Rose's sons, Howie, Danny, Wayne, his wife Grace, grandchildren Joseph (IV), Andrew, Jenny, Josh, and Jade and great grandchild, Charlotte Rose. He is predeceased by his parents and son Dr. Joseph F. Slade, III.Joseph served in the U.S. Marines and graduated summa cum laude from Georgetown University and New York University, and worked as a mathematician in industry. After retiring he and his wife spent many winters in Las Cruces, NM. Joe volunteered teaching GED classes to prisoners at New Haven, CT and services to Hospice. Visitation will be held at Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St., Guilford, CT at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2015, with graveside service to follow.
