In 1920 census, both Martin and his infant son were living with his parents and he is listed as a widower. The boy was not living with him in 1930 census.6
     Martin married second Marie J. Timmins, daughter of Vincent J. Timmins and Margaret Rosa Sneeringer, on December 24, 1930 in Adams County, Pennsylvania.7 Martin Alphonsus Slade Sr. was registered for World War 2 draft in 1942 while living in Gettysburg, Adams County, Pennsylvania.5 He died on March 26, 1957 at age 713 and was buried in Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery, McSherrystown, Adams County, Pennsylvania.8
