Slade Co. based primarily out of Sierra Pipe where you could find him 5 days a week at 6:30 in the morning having coffee with the crew. After he retired you could still find Bob at Anderson's Sierra Pipe sitting on the bar stools where he was known as the local icon being sought after for his knowledge and expertise in a multitude of subjects not limited to his above trade experiences. Bob was always in good humor and had a laugh that was recognizable by all that new him. He was always full of conversation, and was never one to hold back his opinion, or be intimidated into being politically correct. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his early years, later on it changed to Nascar, old cars and Chrysler 300's which he owned a few of, always with a Hemi. He enjoyed going to swap meets and bringing home treasures "One man's junk is another man's treasure" was one of his favorite sayings as well as "It is what it is". His preferred drink was Jack Daniels, his favorite foods were Prime Rib with extra horseradish, Peanut Butter and Jelly, as well as mincemeat pie. His favorite music was Old Country Western.
