     Jonathan married first Caroline B. Winslow, daughter of Dr. John Winslow, on July 13, 1841.2 Caroline died February 1, 1845.2
     Jonathan married second Emeline Hooper, daughter of Salmon Hooper and Rebecca Foster, on May 29, 1851.4 Jonathan and his brother, William Lawton Slade, were the last operators of Slade's Ferry. Jonathan died on December 11, 1900 at age 855 and was buried in Jonathan Slade Cemetery, Somerset, Bristol County, Massachusetts.5

     William married Florence C. Grace Howe.4 Florence was the daughter of George W. and Elizabeth Howe.5 William died in 19171 and was buried in Nathan Slade Cemetery, Somerset, Bristol County, Massachusetts.1
