     Raymond married Aletha Irene Arnold, daughter of Charles T Arnold and Mattie E Strong, on May 27, 1933.³ Raymond died on August 17, 1946 at age 39^3,1 and was buried in Kilmore United Methodist Church Cemetery, Frankfort, Clinton County, Indiana.¹

     Aletha married Raymond Thomas Slade, son of Ephraim Goff Slade and Jeannette May "Jennie" McColley, on May 27, 1933.² Aletha died on October 12, 2009 in Buck Creek, Tippecanoe County, Indiana, at age 98.² She was buried in Tippecanoe Memory Gardens, Tippecanoe County, Indiana.² Her obituary read as follows:

      Aletha (Arnold) Slade, age 98, of Buck Creek died at her residence at 11:45 a.m. on Monday, October 12, 2009. Born in Thorntown, IN on October 4, 1911, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Martha Strong Arnold. Her marriage was to Raymond Slade on May 27, 1933 and he preceded her in death in 1946.
She retired from Earhart Hall in 1975 and from Sarge Oak Restaurant in 1985. She enjoyed knitting, crossword puzzles and reading.
Surviving are two sons, Melvin Slade of Lafayette and David Slade of Buck Creek; four daughters, Barbara Gould of Lafayette, Virginia Montague (husband, John) of Anderson, Laura Poole and Wilma Slade of Buck Creek; sixteen grandchildren, forty great grandchildren, and twenty-three great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sons, Raymond, Louis, and Larry Slade; four brothers, Harold, Homer, Charles, and Chester Arnold; six sisters, Edith Lowry, Esther Jones, Freda Walls, Helen Bart, Alta Harper, and Vera Hilderbrand; two grandchildren, Bruce Gould and Sally James; and one great grandchild.
