Jacob Frieze Jr.1

Jacob Frieze Jr. was born on April 7, 1789 in Providence County, Rhode Island.1 He was the son of Jacob Frieze and Vashti Thayer.2
Jacob married Betsey Slade, daughter of Job Slade and Prudence Chase.1 Jacob was a Universalist Minister and was an early missionary to North Carolina. Jacob was a Mason, he was Grand Chaplain of the Grand Lodge of Rhode Island in 1831.
In 1837 he was Clerk of the Rhode Island General Assembly. Later in life he served as private secretary to the US Senator from R.I., William Sprague, for a part of his term, 1863-75.2 Jacob died on June 2, 1880 at age 91.2 He was buried in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence, Providence County, Rhode Island.2
