     Benjamin Slade was born circa 1790 in North Carolina.1
     Benjamin married first Lucrecia Cowell.2 Lucrecia and Benjamin Slade were living in Beaufort County, North Carolina in July, 1820, when they signed conveyance of the Revolutionary Land Warrant of her father, Butter Cowell, to Calvin Jones of Raleigh, NC. The Land Warrent was for 2,560 acres.3
     Benjamin married second Nancy Windle.4 Benjamin Slade The houshold shows 1 male 20-30, 1m 40-50, 1 female less than 5, 1f 5-10, 1f 20-30 and 1f 40-50. Nancy apparently died before 1850 because she did not appear with husband and five children in that census.1

J., Mrs. Carl Clemons, of Rochester, Miss Dorothy Slade at home, one brother, Perley Slade, of Elkland, and six grandchildren. Funeral services were held Friday at the Methodist church, Rev. E. G. Rowe officiating; burial in Highland cemetery at Elkland.5
