     Lovella Madie Tolar was born on October 30, 1903 in Enon, Marion County, Mississippi,¹, the daughter of Lovella Susana Buckley & Walter Webb Tolar.²
     Lovella married Julian Vence Slade, son of Ebenezer Franklin Slade and Margaret Dezelle Carlisle, on February 7, 1922.¹ Lovella died on January 8, 1996 in Putnam County, Florida, at age 92¹ and was buried in Eliam Cemetery, Melrose, Putnam County, Florida.²

     Sylvester married Mabel Parsons.¹ Sylvester Ager Slade Jr. was born on July 21, 1908 in Marengo County, Alabama.² He was New Tag in 1909 in Alabama.³ He was the son of Sylvester Ager Slade and Birdie Alma Small.³ Sylvester died on October 9, 1989.²

     Ida Dorothea Slade was born on March 11, 1895 in Raleigh Twp, Kent West, Ontario, Canada.^2,3 She was the daughter of Fredrick Slade and Matilda Gertrude Watson.¹
     Ida married Carson McKinley Broadbent.² Ida died on April 26, 1995 at age 100² and was buried in Pardoville Union Cemetery, Chatham-Kent, Ontario, Canada.²

     William Slade was known as Willie Slade. He was born in September, 1857 in Clarke County, Alabama.^1,2 He was the son of William H Slade and Amanda Elizabeth Vick.¹
     William married N. J. Kelly on December 11, 1878 in Alabama.³
     William married Origan O [?] in 1888.²

     William Gaines Slade was born on September 13, 1909 in Marengo County, Alabama.¹ He was the son of Henry Gaines Slade and Onie Leorie Crocker.²
     William married Wilma Bly Pruitt³, the daughter of Leander Ben & Mattie Watkins Pruett.⁴ William died on July 18, 1987 at age 77.⁵ He was buried in Magnolia Cemetery, Marengo County, Alabama.⁶

     Willie Slade was born in 1876 in Alabama.¹ She was the daughter of Dr. Henry Slade M. D. and Mary Grey Alston.¹
     Willie married Thomas H. Gaillard M.D., son of William McConnell Gaillard.² Willie died on February 7, 1939.³

     Louise Slade was born on September 9, 1904 in Marengo County, Alabama.¹ She was the daughter of Henry Gaines Slade and Onie Leorie Crocker.²
     Louise married Richard L. Crocker, son of Clinton Richard Crocker and Julia Martin.³ Louise died on October 14, 1966 at age 62.⁴ She was buried in Magnolia Cemetery, Marengo County, Alabama.⁴

     Winfred Lester Slade was born on November 15, 1902 in Marengo County, Alabama.¹ He was the son of Henry Gaines Slade and Onie Leorie Crocker.¹
     Winfred married Willie Mae Jackson in 1926.^2,3 Winfred Lester Slade was known as Lester. Winfred died in August, 1978 in Alabama at age 75.⁴ He was buried in Magnolia Cemetery, Marengo County, Alabama.⁵

     Zachary Wendell Taylor Slade was born on March 10, 1847 in Bayboro, Pamlico County, North Carolina. [The 1900 census lists his birth as March, 1853]^1,2 He was the son of Benjamin Slade and Nancy Windle.^1,3 Zariah Slade appeared in the 1860 census of Craven County living with Gregory family, North of the Nuese River.⁴

     Zachary married Delphine Place in 1868 in Pennsylvania.⁵ Zachary died on September 28, 1925 in Borden, Steuben County, New York, at age 78.² He was buried in Highland Cemetery, Elkland, Tioga County, Pennsylvania.⁶ His obituary read as follows:

      Z. T. Slade, of Borden, N. Y., who was formerly a resident of this place for many years, was found dead in bed Monday morning, Sept. 28. Death is thought to have occurred during the night, due to heart trouble. He was 72 years of age. Mr. Slade is survived by his widow and three sons, Fred Slade and Perle Slade, of Elkland and John Slade of Osceola, R. D. Mr. Slade was a highly respected citizen and has many friends in this place who were saddened to hear of his demise. The funeral will be held at the M. E. church of this place Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock, Rev. T. S. Alty officiating; interment in the Highland cemetery at Elkland.⁶

     Amanda Elizabeth Vick was born in 1832 in Alabama.¹
     Amanda married William H Slade on May 13, 1847 in Clarke County, Alabama.^1,2

     Nancy Windle was likely born before 1812 based on the birth dates of her children.
     Nancy married Benjamin Slade.¹ She apparently died before 1850 because she did not appear with husband and children in the census.²

     Samuel Slade Jr. was born circa 1774 in North Carolina.^2,3 He was the son of Samuel Slade and Elizabeth [?].¹
     It is believed that the wife of Samuel Slade, Jr was Matilda Irby.³ Samuel, Jr. is found in the 1800 census, living in Barnwell District, South Carolina, next to his father, Samuel Slade, Sr.^4,5 In November, 1808, Samuel Slade, [apparently Samuel, Jr], was granted a passport by the Govenor or Georgia, to pass through the Creek Nations to the territory of Mississippi. He settled in Washington County in the territory of Mississippi and later moved to Hancock County. Mississippi became a state in 1817. Samuel was appointed the first Justice of the Peace in Hancock County in 1818. His wife Matilda apparently died about 1818. After 1820, Samuel moved to Marion County. By 1830 he had married again and was in Perry County. It is believed that his second wife was named Sarah.^6,7,8 Samuel died between August, 1842 and August, 1843 in Perry County, Mississippi, Samuel's second wife Sarah died in 1845.⁹
