     John Fletcher Slade was New Tag in 1840 in Kentucky.² He was born on September 16, 1841 in Harrison County, Kentucky.³ He was the son of Ezekiel H. Slade and Mary Ellen Toadvine.³
     John married Arabella Harden on September 15, 1859 in Kentucky.⁴ John Fletcher Slade enlisted on October 2, 1861 in Smithland, Kentucky, He was promoted to Full Corporal on 15 Feb 1862. Enlisted in Company I, Kentucky 20th Infantry Regiment on 06 Jan 1862. Mustered out on 17 Jan 1865 at Louisville, KY.⁵ John died on August 30, 1882 in Kentucky at age 40.³

     Dr. Harry Montrose Slade M.D. was born on January 14, 1862 in Baltimore County, Maryland.^2,1 He was the son of William Augustus Slade and Belinda Talbott Slade.³ He was a graduate of St. John's College and the University of Maryland Medical School.⁴
     Harry married Elizabeth A Love circa 1897 in Maryland.² Elizabeth Love Slade filed for divorce from Dr. Harry Slade on March 15, 1902 and the case was set for trial on April 13. Apparently, the action was dismissed because they continued to live together and had several other children.⁵ Dr. Harry Montrose Slade M.D. and Elizabeth A Love Seven hundred typewritten pages constitute the testimony taken in the suit of Mrs. Elizabeth Love Slade for a partial divorce from her husband, Dr. Harry M. Slade, of Reisterstown, who is represented by Mr. Frank I. Duncan. Judge Burke set the case for trial April 13, 1902. [This divorce was apparently never finalized because they are still living together and having children according to the 1910, 1920 & 1930 census.] on March 15, 1902.⁶ Harry died on April 15, 1936 at age 74.⁷ He was buried in Druid Ridge Cemetery, Pikesville, Baltimore County, Maryland.⁷

     Mary Luella Slade was born circa 1863 in Maryland.² She was the daughter of William Augustus Slade and Belinda Talbott Slade.¹ Mary died in 1891.¹

     William married Ruth Richards Devereux on November 11, 1940 in District of Columbia.⁶ William Henry Love Slade was registered for World War 2 draft on February 16, 1942 while living in Reisterstown, Baltimore County, Maryland.² William died on July 18, 1974 in Maryland at age 75.⁷

     Harry Montrose Slade Jr was born circa 1922 in Reisterstown, Baltimore County, Maryland.¹ He was the son of Dr. Harry Montrose Slade M.D. and Elizabeth A Love.¹
     Harry married Teresa Stigler.² Mr. Slade was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and the Church of the Resurrection. He was a graduate of Washington College in 1943 and spent 50 years in the food and dairy industry as a chemical salesman.² Harry died on June 19, 2012.² His obituary read as follows:

      On June 19, 2012, Harry Montrose Slade, Jr. , beloved husband of Teresa Stigler Slade of 57 years; devoted father of Mary Elizabeth Rogers, Margaret Mary Zimmermann, Teresa Anne Gary, Harry Montrose Slade, III and William David Slade; cherished grandfather of 17 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Mr. Slade was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and the Church of the Resurrection. He was a graduate of Washington College in 1943 and spent 50 years in the food and dairy industry as a chemical salesman.
The family will receive friends at HARRY H. WITZKE'S FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, INC., 4112 Old Columbia Pike, Ellicott City on Thursday 5-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said Friday, 10 AM at St. Paul's Catholic Church.
