      On March 8, 2006, RAYMOND C. SLADE, JR., 67, passed away at Wake Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Born and raised in Jacksonville, Maryland, Mr. Slade graduated from high school and served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He became manager of Baltimore Telephone Federal Credit Union for 30 years and served on the National Board of Credit Unions. After retirement, he and his wife moved to North Carolina to be closer to their family. Mr. Slade is survived by his faithful, loving and devoted wife of 48 years, Betty. He also leaves an equally loving and devoted daughter, Karen and husband, Brian Cole; three grandchildren, Jonathan, Elizabeth, and Patrick; sister, Jean Cochran of Baltimore; and nieces, nephews, and friends. A memorial service will be held in Mr. Slade's honor on Saturday, March 11, 2006 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of the Cremation Society of the Carolinas, 2205 East Millbrook Rd., Raleigh. The family will receive friends after the service. Arrangements by the Cremation Society of the Carolinas, Raleigh.2
