     Clara Gertrude Hagele was known as Gertrude. She was born on May 26, 1873 in Dearborn, Indiana.² She was the daughter of Fred J Hagele and Sarah J. Clark.³ Her father was born in Wertinburg, Germany, her mother in Indiana.⁴
     Clara married John William Slade, son of Daniel Jackson Slade and Isabella Jane Rawlings, on June 5, 1895 in Cynthiana, Harrison County, Kentucky.¹ Clara died on May 30, 1969 at age 96^3,2 and was buried in Battle Grove Cemetery, Cynthiana, Harrison County, Kentucky.³

     Leetis Mae Slade was born on July 6, 1896 in Cynthiana, Harrison County, Kentucky.^1,2 She was the daughter of John William Slade and Clara Gertrude Hagele.¹
     Leetis married Frank Fithian DeJarnett, son of John W. DeJarnett and Maggie [?], on March 16, 1920 in Cynthiana, Kentucky.¹ Leetis died on March 31, 1970 in Leesburg, Lake County, Florida, at age 73.¹ She was buried in Battle Grove Cemetery, Cynthiana, Harrison County, Kentucky.³ She Jean Rogers "JR" DeJarnett, age 91, of Venice, Florida, formerly of Port Clinton, Ohio, passed away on November 19, 2012.

JR, the son of Frank Fithian and Leetis (Slade) DeJarnett, was born in 1920 in Cynthiana, Kentucky. He graduated from the University of Kentucky with a BS in Metallurgical Engineering and was employed with Brush Beryllium, now Materion Corp. He is a former member of the American Society of Metals and a registered Professional Engineer.

JR loved to sail and is a Past Commodore of the Associated Yacht Clubs of Toledo, Ohio, past member of the Port Clinton Yacht Club and the Venice Sailing Club. He taught navigation classes and is a lifetime member of the Power Squadron. He is a member of the Jacaranda West Golf Club and the Jacaranda Men's Club.

JR married his loving wife, Geraldine Thockmorton on October 29, 1966 and after retiring they moved to Venice in 1988. He is also survived by two daughters, Patricia Sue (Thomas) Carden of Acworth, Georgia, Cathy Jean (Nicholas) Gibbons of Bartow, Florida; a son, Roy Michael DeJarnette of Rockville, Maryland; three grandchildren, Scott (Rebecca) Borders of Winter Haven, Florida, Tristan Matthew (Jaime) Gibbons of Lakeland, Florida, Anthony (Kendra) Ondrus of Kennesaw, Georgia; a great-granddaughter, Kimberly Paige Borders and a nephew, Jeffery Royce DeJarnett of Covington, Kentucky. JR was preceded in death by his brother, Donald R. DeJarnett.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at Farley Funeral Home in Venice. Burial will be held at a later date at South Bloomfield Cemetery in Morrow County, Ohio.      Veta married Littleberry Slade, son of James Travilon Slade and Emily Bilbro, on February 26, 1896 in Mississippi.¹ Veta died on March 25, 1935 in Lena, Scott County, Mississippi, at age 59.¹

     Ellworth married Etta Florence Slade, daughter of Eli Wesley Slade and Mattie Lavinia Lawrence, on August 10, 1916.¹ Ellworth died on July 2, 1927 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma County, Oklahoma.¹

     Thomas D Bates was born on July 11, 1893 in Leesburg, Rankin County, Mississippi.¹
     Thomas married Ada Lavinia Slade, daughter of Eli Wesley Slade and Mattie Lavinia Lawrence, on November 17, 1912 in Rankin County, Mississippi.¹ Married second 18 Nov 1933 Annie Lee Shoemaker b 14 May 1914 and married third m 11 Oct 1952 Edna Jewel Wilson=24 Feb 1936.¹ Thomas died on December 14, 1962 in Leesburg, Mississippi, at age 69.¹

     Lizzie Mae Nobles was born on July 17, 1893 in Mississippi.¹
     Lizzie married Jesse Ezekiel Slade, son of Eli Wesley Slade and Mattie Lavinia Lawrence, on December 8, 1912 in Rankin County, Mississippi.² Lizzie died on February 26, 1920 in Glenn's Ferry, Elmore County, Idaho, at age 26.¹

     Leon Wesley Slade was born on September 25, 1913 in Leesburg, Rankin County, Mississippi.¹ He was the son of Jesse Ezekiel Slade and Lizzie Mae Nobles.¹
     Leon married Mary Stephanie Bennett on September 18, 1948 in Spokane County, Washington.² Leon Wesley Slade was living in March, 2003 in Green Acres, Washington.² Leon died on December 18, 2011 in Pierce County, Washington, at age 98³ and was buried in Greenwood Memorial Terrace, Spokane, Spokane County, Washington.⁴

     Mary Docia Enfinger was born on May 25, 1917 in Santa Rosa County, Florida.² She was the daughter of James Ranson Enfinger.³
     Mary married Joseph Mark Slade, son of Samuel Billingsly Slade and Sidney Nell Vinia Blackmon, on June 23, 1934.¹ Mary died on February 17, 2005 at age 87.⁴ She was buried in Elizabeth Chapel Church Cemetery, Chumuckla, Santa Rosa County, Florida.⁴

     Terry Dale Slade was born on September 4, 1953 in Pensacola, Escambia County, Florida.¹ He was the son of Joseph Mark Slade and Mary Docia Enfinger.¹
     Terry married Debra Ann Campbell on February 5, 1971 in Escambia, Florida, USA.² Terry Dale Slade lived in 2002 in Pensacola, Escambia, Florida, USA.³ Terry died on August 17, 2023 at age 69.⁴

     Harvey Richard Slade was born on June 2, 1941 in Pensacola, Escambia County, Florida.¹ He was the son of Joseph Mark Slade and Mary Docia Enfinger.^1,2 Harvey died on July 28, 1981 at age 40¹ and was buried in Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola Naval Air Station, Escambia County, Florida.¹

     James Cullen Wallace was born on September 22, 1897 in Mississippi.¹
     James married Florence Rosa Slade, daughter of Samuel Billingsly Slade and Sidney Nell Vinia Blackmon, on November 17, 1917.¹ James died on January 19, 1919 at age 21.¹

     Lesley Benton Goodson was born on March 28, 1896 in Scott County, Mississippi.¹
     Lesley married Ruby Lillie Slade, daughter of Samuel Billingsly Slade and Sidney Nell Vinia Blackmon, on January 3, 1916 in Mississippi.¹ Lesley died on December 10, 1955 in Smith County, Mississippi, at age 59.¹

     Estelle Marie Slade was born on August 1, 1920 in Mississippi.¹ She was the daughter of John Calvin W Slade and Lula Mae Slade.¹
     Estelle married Troy Lee King on April 9, 1942.¹

     John Rupert Slade was born on February 9, 1931 in Brewton, Jackson County, Mississippi.³ He was the son of John Asher Slade and Agnes Eliza Slade.¹
     John married Rachel Marlene Lee on June 11, 1960 in Brewton, Escambia County, Alabama,³, the daughter of Mae Ard & Brooks Lee.⁴ John died on March 4, 1995 at age 64.¹ He was buried in Serenity Gardens, Milton, Santa Rosa County, Florida.⁵

     Fannie Agnese Slade was born on July 5, 1925 in Florida.^2,1 She was the daughter of John Asher Slade and Agnes Eliza Slade.³
     Fannie married Fredrick Newton Slade, son of George Washington Slade and Eliza Ogden Davis, on April 24, 1953 in Pensacola, Escambia County, Florida.³ Fannie died on October 8, 2012 at age 87.¹ She was buried in Brandon Memorial Gardens, Brandon, Rankin County, Mississippi.¹

     Lula Jane Steen was born on January 20, 1893 in Mississippi.²
     Lula married Frank Ezekiel Slade, son of Ezekiel B. Slade and Mary Jane Ogden.³ Lula died on May 6, 1974 in Mississippi at age 81.² She was buried in Eureka Bapt Church Cemetery, Rankin County, Mississippi.²

     Ogden Coward Slade went by Jack.¹ He was born on February 21, 1920 in Mississippi.² He was the son of Frank Ezekiel Slade and Lula Jane Steen.³
     Ogden married Hallie Mae Measels in 1945.⁴ Ogden died on January 26, 2011 at age 90.¹ He was buried in Leesburg Bapt Church Cemetery, Rankin County, Mississippi.¹

     Annie Mae Taylor was born on February 14, 1880 in Yazoo County, Mississippi.¹
     Annie married Robert Newton Slade, son of Ezekiel B. Slade and Mary Jane Ogden, on June 24, 1897 in Mississippi.¹ Annie died on July 21, 1963 in Pensacola, Escambia County, Florida, at age 83.¹

Note: Annie was half sister to Sidney Nell V Blackmon who married Samuel Billingsly Slade.¹

     Euell Hamilton Slade was born on September 8, 1905 in Mississippi.¹ He was the son of Robert Newton Slade and Annie Mae Taylor.¹ Euell Hamilton Slade was born on October 8, 1906 in Alabama.^2,3
     Euell married Mildred P. Farley on December 5, 1934 in Fayette County, West Virginia.^4,5 Euell Hamilton Slade lived in Florida, Iowa and Virginia.¹ He and Mildred P. Farley were divorced in April, 1946 in Raleigh County, West Virginia.⁶ Euell died in 1978 in Baldsea, Georgia.¹ Euell died in March, 1979 in Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia, at age 73.²

     Berrie Ezekiel Slade was born on October 30, 1903 in Rankin County, Mississippi.¹ He was the son of Robert Newton Slade and Annie Mae Taylor.¹
     Berrie married Mattie Lee Martin on December 20, 1921 in Meridian, Lauderdale County, Mississippi.¹ Berrie died on March 10, 1972 in Piatt County, Illinois, at age 68.¹ He was buried in Cerro Gordo Cemetery, Piatt County, Illinois.²

     Myrtle Irene Barnes was born on June 10, 1901 in Mississippi.¹
     Myrtle married Halsey Claude Slade, son of William M Slade and Virginia Caroline Bilbro, on March 5, 1916 in Rankin County, Mississippi.¹

     Ollie Myers Perry was born on May 8, 1895 in Lauderdale County, Mississippi.¹
     Ollie married Emma Lumkin Slade, daughter of William M Slade and Virginia Caroline Bilbro, on January 10, 1917 in Rankin County, Mississippi.¹ Ollie Myers Perry m Georgia Mae Crosswhite.¹ Ollie died on February 19, 1976 in Mississippi at age 80.¹

     Minnie Ladd was born on March 26, 1889 in Mississippi.¹
     Minnie married Marion Darnell Slade, son of William M Slade and Virginia Caroline Bilbro, on January 15, 1905 in Leake County, Mississippi.²
     Minnie married John William Slade, son of William M Slade and Virginia Caroline Bilbro. Minnie died on March 23, 1973 at age 83.³ She was buried in Pisgah Cemetery, Koch, Rankin County, Mississippi.³
