     Ellen married William Oville Slade, son of Samuel S. Slade and Anna L. Carlson.1 Ellen died on April 16, 2011 at age 961 and was buried in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Linn County, Iowa.1 Her obituary read as follows:

      Ellen (Micky) M. Slade passed away from a long illness on Saturday, April 16, 2011.
     She was born Jan. 24, 1915, in Oxford, England, to John and Ethel Shrimpton. She came to the United States in 1946 and married Wm. O. Slade, whom she met in World War II.
     
Micky was avid at knitting, sewing, cross stitching and cooking for family and friends. She loved animals, especially dogs. She enjoyed dancing and music throughout her life.
     
She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be sadly missed by all.
     
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a sister, Sylvia Dowdeswell; and brothers, William Shrimpton and Randolf Shrimpton.
     
Ellen is survived by her only daughter and husband, Lindalee A. (Jim D.) Germaine of Prairie du Chien, Wis; and three grandchildren, Jim W. Germaine and wife Katie of Vinton, Jennifer E. Germaine of Prairie du Chien, Wis., and Chad J. Germaine and fiancee Kara Hinzie of Cedar Rapids. Services: private. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.1

     Bonnie Eloise Slade was born on May 30, 1918 in Weeksbury, Floyd County, Kentucky.1 She was the daughter of Edgar Charles Slade and Lorain Elliott.1 She married Charles Maynard Hopkins and had seven sons.1 Bonnie died on August 11, 2011 in Waverly, Ohio, at age 93.1 She was buried in Evergreen Union Cemetery, Waverly, Pike County, Ohio.1 Her obituary read as follows:

            Bonnie Eloise Hopkins, 93, of Denver Road, Waverly, Ohio, died Thursday, August 11, 2011 at her home.
     She was born May 30, 1918 in Weeksbury, Kentucky, daughter of the late Edgar Charles Slade and Lula (Elliott) Slade. On March 10, 1939, she was united in marriage to Charles Maynard Hopkins who preceded her in death on January 13, 1974.
     Surviving are six sons, James R. Hopkins and wife Mary Ann of Lockbourne, Ohio, Larry D. Hopkins and wife Sally and William L. Hopkins and wife Charlotte, both of Chillicothe, Ohio, Ronald M. Hopkins and wife Sue, John L. Hopkins and wife Debbie and Daniel Hopkins and wife Joyce, all of Waverly; 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren.
     In addition to her parents and husband, a son, Charles V. Hopkins, two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and two sisters, Elaine Howard and Loraine Halbert preceded Bonnie in death.
     
Bonnie was a retired elementary teacher for 22 years at Huntington Local Schools and six years in Kentucky, a University of Kentucky graduate and a member of it's Alumni Association and volunteered for 10 years after she retired at Huntington Mother's Club.
     Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 15, 2011 at the Mt. Tabor Community Christian Church with Pastor Rick Hartley officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Union Cemetery, Bridge Street, Waverly. Friends may call at the BOYER FUNERAL HOME in Waverly from 4-8 p.m. Sunday and 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.1

      Slade, Charles Joseph of Creve Coeur, Missouri passed away Saturday, June 2, 2018, at the age of 76. Cherished husband of Jean Slade, beloved son of the late Charles and Dortha Slade, honored father of Heather and father-in law of Cyrus McCall, devoted grandfather of Slade and Lance McCall, treasured brother-in-law of Joan and the late Bob Bogan, dear uncle of the late Chris Bogan and only brother of the late Frank Slade. Charles received his Bachelor of Science degree from Washington University and a Masters of Business from Maryville University. Charles worked for The Boeing Company and McDonnell Douglas for a combined total of 50 years. He was an invaluable Project Manager and mentor to his fellow colleagues. He enjoyed being a member of the Clayton Elks Lodge #9 for 40 years and a past Exulted Ruler. On the weekends, golfing and working on home projects were his hobbies. He was always a bright smile at the 19th hole and the dinner table. Charles was loyal and generous, and family was his main priority. He spent his last week celebrating both grandsons' birthdays in Maine. Jean and Heather were able to be by his side until the end. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
