     Fred W. Slade was born in April, 1885 in Iowa.¹ He was the son of William H. Slade and Luella V. [?]¹
     Fred married Grace Metcalf, daughter of C. T. Metcalf and May Harman, on August 19, 1908 in Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa.²

     Ellen M. Shrimpton was born on January 24, 1915 in Oxford, England.¹ She was the daughter of John and Ethel Shrimpton.¹
     Ellen married William Oville Slade, son of Samuel S. Slade and Anna L. Carlson.¹ Ellen died on April 16, 2011 at age 96¹ and was buried in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Linn County, Iowa.¹ Her obituary read as follows:

      Ellen (Micky) M. Slade passed away from a long illness on Saturday, April 16, 2011.
     She was born Jan. 24, 1915, in Oxford, England, to John and Ethel Shrimpton. She came to the United States in 1946 and married Wm. O. Slade, whom she met in World War II.
     
Micky was avid at knitting, sewing, cross stitching and cooking for family and friends. She loved animals, especially dogs. She enjoyed dancing and music throughout her life.
     
She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be sadly missed by all.
     
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a sister, Sylvia Dowdeswell; and brothers, William Shrimpton and Randolf Shrimpton.
     
Ellen is survived by her only daughter and husband, Lindalee A. (Jim D.) Germaine of Prairie du Chien, Wis; and three grandchildren, Jim W. Germaine and wife Katie of Vinton, Jennifer E. Germaine of Prairie du Chien, Wis., and Chad J. Germaine and fiancee Kara Hinzie of Cedar Rapids. Services: private. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.¹

     Kenneth Eugene Slade was born on September 26, 1934 in Missouri.² He was the son of Harold Eugene Slade and Margaret Byers.²
     Kenneth married Mary Lou Dush.² She was the daughter of George and Octa Dorris Dush.³ Kenneth died on January 24, 1986 in Morgantown, Kentucky, at age 51.² He was buried in Leadwood Cemetery, Saint Francois County, Missouri.^2,4 His obituary read as follows:

      Kenneth E. Slade, 52, of Morgantown, KY, died Jan. 24 at his home. He was born Sept. 26, 1934. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold E. Slade.
     He is survived by his mother, Margaret Byers Slade Hopkins, of desloge, his wife, Mary Dush Slade of Morgantown, KY; three sons: Bill Slade, of Bowling Green, KY., Harold Slade, of Farmington and Terry Slade, of Lakeworth, Fla; one daughter, Kathy Pirtle, of Desloge; two stepchildren: Bruce Boren and Keven Lynn Boren, both of Flat River; two sisters: Marilyn Horton, of Desloge and Sherry Robinson, of Alvaton, KY; eight grandchildren; his grandmother, Janie Forrester, of St. Louis and his mother-and-father-in-law of Flat River. Burial will be in Leadwood Cemetery.⁵

     Lorain Elliott went by Lula. She was born on February 9, 1895 in Kentucky.¹ She was the daughter of John Wesley Elliott and Juda R. Martin.²
     Lorain married Edgar Charles Slade, son of Samuel Richard Slade and Eliza Jane Davey, circa 1917.¹ Lorain died on February 25, 1980 in Floyd County, Kentucky, at age 85³ and was buried in Davidson Memorial Gardens, Ivel, Floyd County, Kentucky.²

     Bonnie Eloise Slade was born on May 30, 1918 in Weeksbury, Floyd County, Kentucky.¹ She was the daughter of Edgar Charles Slade and Lorain Elliott.¹ She married Charles Maynard Hopkins and had seven sons.¹ Bonnie died on August 11, 2011 in Waverly, Ohio, at age 93.¹ She was buried in Evergreen Union Cemetery, Waverly, Pike County, Ohio.¹ Her obituary read as follows:

            Bonnie Eloise Hopkins, 93, of Denver Road, Waverly, Ohio, died Thursday, August 11, 2011 at her home.
     She was born May 30, 1918 in Weeksbury, Kentucky, daughter of the late Edgar Charles Slade and Lula (Elliott) Slade. On March 10, 1939, she was united in marriage to Charles Maynard Hopkins who preceded her in death on January 13, 1974.
     Surviving are six sons, James R. Hopkins and wife Mary Ann of Lockbourne, Ohio, Larry D. Hopkins and wife Sally and William L. Hopkins and wife Charlotte, both of Chillicothe, Ohio, Ronald M. Hopkins and wife Sue, John L. Hopkins and wife Debbie and Daniel Hopkins and wife Joyce, all of Waverly; 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren.
     In addition to her parents and husband, a son, Charles V. Hopkins, two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and two sisters, Elaine Howard and Loraine Halbert preceded Bonnie in death.
     
Bonnie was a retired elementary teacher for 22 years at Huntington Local Schools and six years in Kentucky, a University of Kentucky graduate and a member of it's Alumni Association and volunteered for 10 years after she retired at Huntington Mother's Club.
     Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 15, 2011 at the Mt. Tabor Community Christian Church with Pastor Rick Hartley officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Union Cemetery, Bridge Street, Waverly. Friends may call at the BOYER FUNERAL HOME in Waverly from 4-8 p.m. Sunday and 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.¹

     Loraine Slade was born on February 24, 1923 in Boyd County, Kentucky.¹ She was the daughter of Edgar Charles Slade and Lorain Elliott.²
     Loraine married Denzil "Hoss" Halbert.¹ Loraine died on July 23, 2007 at age 84.¹ She was buried in Davidson Memorial Gardens, Ivel, Floyd County, Kentucky.¹

     Elaine Cletha Slade was born on February 24, 1923 in Kentucky.^1,2 She was the daughter of Edgar Charles Slade and Lorain Elliott.¹
     Elaine married James Dillard Howard.³ Elaine died on January 19, 1991 in Floyd County, Kentucky, at age 67.³ She was buried in Davidson Memorial Gardens, Ivel, Floyd County, Kentucky.²

     Harold Eugene Slade was born on October 26, 1911 in Missouri.^2,3 He was the son of Oscar W. Peterson and Jane Blanton.^3,4
     Harold married Margaret Byers.³ Harold died on September 1, 1974 in Salem Memorial Hospital, Salem, Missouri, at age 62.³ He was buried in Leadwood Cemetery, Saint Francois County, Missouri.^3,5 His obituary read as follows:

      Harold Eugene (Buf) Slade of Desloge was born Oct. 26, 1911 and died Sep 1st at Salem Memorial Hospital at age of 62. He was a son of Janie Blanton Forrester and the late Oscar Slade.
     Surviving are his wife, Margaret Slade, Desloge; one son, Kenneth Slade, Desloge; two daughters, Marilyn Horton, Imperial and Sherry Robinson, Flat River; one brother, Cleo Slade, Desloge; one half-sister, Ruby Jean Farrar, Imperial and one half-brother, Carroll Forrester, Leadwood; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.
     The body is in state at C.Z. Boyer and Son Funeral Home in Desloge. Chapel Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. with Reverend Edwin Hunter officiating.
     Burial will be at Leadwood Cemetery under direction of C.Z. Boyer & Son Funeral Home of Desloge.³

     Charles Clifford Slade was born on April 9, 1904 in Victoria, Australia.^2,1 He was the son of James Maxwell Slade and Mary Ann Young.³
     Charles married Cordelia Doris Eileen Hobbs in 1929 in Victoria⁴, daughter of Sarah Ann Ross & Alex Hobbs.⁵ Charles died on September 16, 1985 at age 81.⁴ He was buried in Creswick Cemetery, Creswick, Hepburn Shire, Victoria, Australia.³

     Jane Blanton went by Janie. She was born on October 5, 1894 in Sullivan, Franklin County, Missouri,^3,2, the daughter of Martha Jones & Vincent Blanton.²
     Jane married Oscar W. Peterson, son of Emanuel Peterson and Mary Elizabeth Williford, on October 7, 1910.^1,4,5
     Jane married Virgil Forrester.⁶ Jane died on August 17, 1987 in Jefferson County, Missouri, at age 92.³ She was buried in Leadwood Cemetery, Saint Francois County, Missouri.³

     Reuben A. Slade was born circa 1815 in Pennsylvania.¹
     Reuben married Susan Watkins on October 6, 1847 in Butler County, Ohio.²

     Dortha Skiles was born on December 28, 1919 in Leadwood, Saint Francois County, Missouri,², the daughter of Joe and Lizzie (Crump) Skiles.²
     Dortha married Charles Edward Slade, son of Frank Edward Slade and Ethel Fay Harris.¹ Dortha died on August 3, 2017 at age 97.² She was buried in Leadwood Cemetery, Saint Francois County, Missouri.³

     Charles Joseph Slade was born in 1942 in Missouri.² He was the son of Charles Edward Slade and Dortha Skiles.¹
     Charles married Jean [?].² Charles died on June 2, 2018 in Maine.² He was buried in Bellerive Heritage Gardens, Creve Coeur, St. Louis County, Missouri.² His obituary read as follows:

      Slade, Charles Joseph of Creve Coeur, Missouri passed away Saturday, June 2, 2018, at the age of 76. Cherished husband of Jean Slade, beloved son of the late Charles and Dortha Slade, honored father of Heather and father-in law of Cyrus McCall, devoted grandfather of Slade and Lance McCall, treasured brother-in-law of Joan and the late Bob Bogan, dear uncle of the late Chris Bogan and only brother of the late Frank Slade. Charles received his Bachelor of Science degree from Washington University and a Masters of Business from Maryville University. Charles worked for The Boeing Company and McDonnell Douglas for a combined total of 50 years. He was an invaluable Project Manager and mentor to his fellow colleagues. He enjoyed being a member of the Clayton Elks Lodge #9 for 40 years and a past Exulted Ruler. On the weekends, golfing and working on home projects were his hobbies. He was always a bright smile at the 19th hole and the dinner table. Charles was loyal and generous, and family was his main priority. He spent his last week celebrating both grandsons' birthdays in Maine. Jean and Heather were able to be by his side until the end. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
