Catherine is head of househould in 1851 census, children; Elizabeth, James, Stephen and Edward are with her, son George and wife are living next door.4 Catherine died in 1866 (according to the bio of James Slade, his mother lived to attain her 65th year.)6

Slade was New Tag in February, 1835 in England.3,4 He was New Tag on December 22, 1836 in Bath, Somerset.5 James immigrated from England to New York in 1855.5 After clerking for 3 years in New York City, he removed to Lynchburg, Virginia, but in 1860, returned to join Yonkers Gas Company and become a permanent resident of Yonkers.5
     James married Mary Nolan circa 1864 in Westchester County, New York.5 James H. Slade was naturalized on October 6, 1868 in Superior Court, New York County, New York.6 James died on June 18, 1901 at age 687 and was buried in Oakland Cemetery, Yonkers, Westchester County, New York.7
