     Richard married Carol Combs.3 Richard died on April 17, 2017 in Freehold, Monmouth County, New Jersey, at age 79.3 He was buried in Doyle Veterans Cemetery of NJ, Wrightstown, Burlington County, New Jersey.1 His obituary read as follows:

      Richard C. Slade, 77, of Freehold Township, passed away on Monday, April 17, 2017 at home. He was born in Jersey City.

Mr. Slade was a boiler operator for Stauffer Chemical, Parlin.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp, and a member of the Cpl. Phillip A. Reynolds Detachment 203, Freehold, where he was devoted to the Toys for Tots program. He was also a member of the American Legion Post. No. 54, Freehold.

He was devoted Mets and Raiders fan.

He was predeceased by his wife, Carol Combs Slade; his parents, Percy E. and Catherine Ryan Slade; and his brothers, Alvin and Foster Slade.

Surviving are a son, Sean Slade, Centerburg, Ohio; a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Dan Harris, Centerburg, Ohio; three brothers, Howard Slade, Freehold Township; Kevin Slade and his wife, Susan, Freehold, and Desmond Slade and his wife, Ingrid, Jackson Township; a sister, Alyce Dziedziech and her husband, Steve, Smithtown, New York; His uncle and aunt, Rodger and Theresa Ryan, San Jose, California; four grandchildren, Tabbitha Hubbard, Robert Hubbard, Jr., Kirstin Hanna, and Taylor Harris; and five great grandchildren, Devon, Dylan, Harper, Adeline and Sawyer.

Visitation will be held at the Higgins Memorial Home, 20 Center Street, Freehold, on Thursday 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Marine Corp services will be held at 7:00 p.m. and funeral services will be held at 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Donations in his memory to the Corporal Phillip A. Reynolds Detachment, 50 Waterworks Road, Freehold, NJ 07728 would be appreciated.

      FOSTER ELMORE "SAM" SLADE, 63, of the Perrineville section of Millstone died Sept. 1 at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Jersey City, he had lived in Freehold before moving to Millstone. He was a traffic analyst for the National Security Agency, Fort Meade, Md. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.      2 Max Slade was born on December 3, 1886 in Malaches, Russia. [born Max Slochovsky]3,2 He was the son of Aaron Slochovsky.1
     Max married Yetta Winneck4, the daughter of Phillp Winneck, b 1855, Russia. Max immigrated from Hamburg, Germany, Nov 17, 1906 aboard Pretoris to New York on December 2, 1906.2 He was naturalized on May 2, 1927 in Newark, Essex County, New York, and changed surname from Slochovsky to Slade.2 He was registered for World War 2 draft in 1942 while living in Newark, Essex County, New Jersey, living at 79 Tillinghast Street.3
